This thesis attempts to conduct a case study and comparative analysis of the concept of "space" in the process of urban-rural integration from the perspectives of Christopher Alexander’s architectural pattern language and Henri Lefebvre’s spatial production theory, and to analyze the spatial ideology and spatial construction theory under the influence of these two noteworthy forces. In current Chinese third-and fourth-tier cities, the spatial construction is filled with management-oriented methods and the transformation of rural landscapes, which resort to extensive industrialization and urbanization, leading to the myth of modern community life.Under the call for rural revitalization strategy, the concept of urban-rural integration gradually enters the public’s vision, but the current theoretical research community lacks theoretical research supported by spatial production theory and everyday life criticism, and research on using architectural pattern language for cultural heritage preservation strategies is even rarer. This means that we need to re-understand the spatial logic behind vernacular architecture and the cultural significance behind spatial production. This article takes Huanggang Village in Liping County as a sample to analyze architectural pattern language and spatial production, trying to regain some good experiences that have been forgotten by everyone and provide a new possibility for the subjectivity production of actors.
