At present,the sustainable development strategy has become one of the important strategies to promote the high-quality development of China ’s economy and society.Sustainable development performance focuses on the future capital accumulation and capacity building of enterprises,that is,enterprises ensure the minimization of environmental and social damage while improving economic efficiency.At the same time,in the era of digital economy,the application of digital technology,as an important resource to promote sustainable development,is an important reason for the difference in sustainable development performance of construction enterprises.Based on this,construction enterprises are actively promoting digital transformation,strengthening the application of new generation digital technologies such as artificial intelligence,Internet of Things,and cloud computing,and achieving green innovation characterized by adhering to the triple bottom line of economy,environment,and society,thereby promoting its sustainable development.The digital technology application and green innovation of construction enterprises are greatly affected by the uncertainty of their external environment,such as government policy changes,market and customer demand changes.Therefore,it has become an urgent practical problem in China to break through the dilemma of efficiency and environment with the help of digital technology application in a dynamic environment,and to realize the sustainable development of construction enterprises by enabling green innovation.However,the mechanism of action among digital technology application,sustainable development performance,green innovation and environmental dynamics of construction enterprises is still unclear and needs to be further explored.Therefore,based on the intermediary perspective of green innovation,this study explores the impact of digital technology application on the sustainable development performance of construction enterprises,and combines resource-based theory and innovation theory to construct the theoretical model of "digital technology application-green innovationsustainable development performance" of construction enterprises.Combined with contingency theory,the moderating effect of environmental dynamics,an external environmental characteristic,is included in the research framework.Then,based on the 262 questionnaire data of construction enterprise employees,the structural equation model(SEM)and the latent adjustment structural equation model(LMS)were used to empirically test the direct effect of digital technology application on the sustainable development performance of construction enterprises,the mediating effect of green innovation,the moderating effect of environmental dynamics and the moderated mediating effect,and the multi-group structural equation model(Multi-group SEM)was used for multi-group analysis of enterprise nature.In addition,there is a combination effect between multiple antecedent variables,so the fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis(fs QCA)method is further used to explore multiple configuration paths of performance improvement.The results show that:(1)the application of digital technology can promote the improvement of sustainable development performance of construction enterprises.(2)Green innovation can transfer the role of digital technology application in promoting the sustainable development performance of construction enterprises.Environmental dynamism positively moderates the relationship between green innovation and sustainable development performance of construction enterprises,but fails to moderate the relationship between digital technology application and sustainable development performance of construction enterprises.At the same time,environmental dynamism positively regulates the mediating effect of green innovation.There is no significant difference between the two groups of samples of stateowned enterprises and non-state-owned enterprises in the direct action path.(3)There are two,one and two antecedent configurations of high economic performance,high environmental performance and high social performance respectively.(4)Among them,the application of digital technology as the core condition appears in each configuration,which plays a key role in performance improvement.The research conclusions first expand and make up for the deficiencies of resource-based theory,innovation theory and contingency theory in the research of sustainable development performance of construction enterprises,and increase the application of the above theories in the construction enterprises.Secondly,this study gives two,one and two antecedent configurations of high economic,environmental and social performance,which is of great significance for construction enterprises to carry out digital technology application and green innovation in a dynamic environment and promote their sustainable development.
