With global economicization,the manufacturing industry must face the challenges of a volatile market environment and a market demand that is moving toward variety and individuality.To meet these challenges,the manufacturing industry needs to improve the responsiveness of production lines.The diversity of production line workers’ skills can improve the flexibility of production lines and the rapid response to changes in market demand.To this end,this paper presents the equilibrium optimization problem of a multiskilled worker production line considering the differences in worker skills and skill proficiency.The equilibrium optimization process of a multi-skilled worker production line is more complicated,which needs to consider not only the process allocation optimization problem,but also the influence of the number of workers,worker skill combinations and skill proficiency on the workstation operation time.Therefore,this paper divides the equilibrium optimization problem of the multi-skilled worker production line into two stages.In the first stage,we consider the influence of the relationship between the number of workers and workstations on the production line balance,and construct a process allocation optimization model with the objective of optimizing the production line beat and balance rate under the process priority relationship constraint;and then in the second stage,we consider the influence of the variability of workers’ skills and skill proficiency on the worker allocation,and construct a multi-skilled worker allocation optimization model with the objective of optimizing the production line beat and balance rate.On this basis,this paper proposes a heuristic optimization algorithm for step-by-step solution method.For the process assignment optimization model,an improved ant colony algorithm with mixed heuristic factors and mixed search rules is designed to realize the process assignment,and the roulette random assignment idea is applied to realize the process worker assignment in the process assignment process based on the process operation time and the quantity relationship between workers and workstations.For the optimization model of multi-skilled worker allocation,the initial solution of the model is designed based on the greedy idea,and then the optimal solution of the model is designed based on the bottleneck optimization idea of the production line to obtain the optimal workstation allocation scheme for multi-skilled workers.By applying these algorithms together,the optimal solution of the overall multi-skilled worker production line is obtained.Finally,the optimal production allocation scheme of the freezer production line of enterprise H is obtained based on the multi-skilled worker allocation optimization model and the step-by-step solution method of heuristic optimization algorithm,and the production allocation scheme obtained by the algorithm designed in this paper is compared with the results of the solution using the two-population genetic algorithm.The results show that the algorithm proposed in this paper outperforms the comparison algorithm in terms of both beat and balance rate.Subsequently,the production optimization scheme was simulated using Flexsim,and the results showed that the busy rate of most workstations was above 90%,and the average production capacity was increased to 41.9 pieces per hour,indicating that the proposed optimization algorithm has good optimization effect.This paper investigates the optimization problem of balancing multi-skilled worker production line with worker heterogeneity,and considers the influence of the number relationship between workers and workstations on production line balancing,which reduces the beat and improves the balancing rate and capacity,and has practical reference value for traditional production line balancing optimization in manufacturing industry.
