In recent years, the hot sales of intelligent new energy vehicles in China have driven the vigorous development of the entire automotive industry chain. However,in the production process, automobile manufacturers are often affected by the unstable supply capacity of upstream suppliers, leading to a risk of chip supply shortage, which leads to insufficient production capacity or even stock shortage among manufacturers. The shortage of chip supply not only affects the cost and production schedule of automobile manufacturers, but also affects consumer satisfaction with automobile manufacturers, causing many adverse effects. How to reduce the additional costs caused by the upstream chip supply shortage risk while ensuring the stable production schedule of manufacturers has become a research hotspot for domestic automotive manufacturers and relevant scholars. Many practical cases have shown that dual source procurement strategies have good anti risk effects. Some scholars have tried to combine dual source procurement with backup procurement and emergency procurement to study and optimize the anti risk capability of the procurement process.Combining domestic and foreign research and relevant practical cases, the dissertation studies the dual source procurement strategy of automotive manufacturers facing upstream chip supply risks, combining dual source procurement with backup procurement and reservation procurement respectively. In order to facilitate the observation of the differences between the combined two procurement strategies affected by different factors, the dissertation established a newsboy model to solve the optimal value, and conducted a comparative analysis of the two procurement strategies.Using Matlab software,a numerical example is studied to analyze the sensitivity of the optimal decision and the maximum expected return of an automobile manufacturer. The study found that under both dual source procurement strategies, automakers can obtain the number of chips required for normal production by allocating orders to domestic suppliers based on the supply capacity of foreign upstream suppliers, but the results of the difference in maximum profit under the two procurement strategies are different due to related factors. At this point, the dissertation further introduced a repurchase contract into the previous model for cost optimization, and found that under the same situation, the optimization ability of the repurchase contract for the two procurement strategies also varies.Through sensitivity analysis, the dissertation compares the impact of different factors on the optimization ability of repurchase contracts, and proposes a decision-making idea for automobile manufacturers to conduct dual source procurement and sign repurchase contracts under the risk of supply shortage.
