Abstract/Summary:
Under the background of the ’dual carbon’ strategy, new energy vehicles,as a representative of low-carbon and environmental protection, have seen a continuous expansion of the market scale, progress in research and development technology, and improvement in the industrial chain, and the new energy vehicle industry has maintained a good momentum of development. The implementation of the government subsidy policy has further promoted the development of the new energy vehicle industry. The government subsidy has increased consumers’ willingness to purchase vehicles and increased the market share of new energy vehicles. At the same time, the government subsidy policy has promoted the transformation and upgrading of the new energy vehicle industry chain, prompting enterprises to continue to research and innovate. However,in the context of subsidy withdrawal, the impact of government subsidies on the innovation performance of new energy vehicle enterprises, and whether the enterprises have effectively utilised government subsidies, need to be further studied. Therefore, research on the impact of government subsidies on the innovation performance of new energy vehicle enterprises is particularly important. This thesis selects new energy vehicle Company B as the research object and adopts a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods.Firstly, this thesis introduces the development status of China’s new energy vehicle industry, the basic situation of Company B and an overview of the government subsidies it has received.Secondly, this thesis analyses the impact of government subsidies on Company B’s innovation performance in terms of innovation input and innovation output, and selects several indicators for research and analysis.Again, this thesis conducts a comprehensive analysis of the impact of government subsidies on the innovation performance of Company B.Among them, this thesis reasonably selects evaluation indexes, constructs an index system for the evaluation of Company B’s innovation performance, calculates the comprehensive index of Company B’s innovation performance in each year by using the entropy value method, and then conducts a research and analysis on the dynamic relationship between Company B’s government subsidies and its innovation performance based on the time series analysis methods in econometrics, such as unit root test,co-integration test, regression analysis, causality test, impulse response analysis and variance decomposition analysis. The results show that: government subsidies of Company B are significantly and positively related to innovation performance;government subsidies significantly improve the innovation performance of Company B;government subsidies are the Granger cause of Company B’s innovation performance;there is always a positive impact of government subsidies on Company B’s innovation performance, and the contribution of government subsidies to innovation performance keeps increasing. However,Company B has problems such as reliance on government subsidies and lack of awareness of independent R&D.Finally, for the above findings and problems, this thesis puts forward corresponding suggestions from both government and enterprise perspectives. The innovation of this thesis is to adopt a case study approach by selecting new energy vehicle Company B as the case company for the study, with a view to clarifying the mechanism of the impact of government subsidies on the innovation performance of Company B.It also considers the effect of time limitation and improves the relevance of the data to the research topic by optimising the data.
