The influence of air suspended particles and harmful gases caused by environmental pollution on people ’s health has attracted more and more attention.As the main source of indoor air pollution,the harm of formaldehyde to people ’s health cannot be ignored.Therefore,the formaldehyde removal function has gradually become the basic configuration of household air purifiers.As the core component of the indoor air purifier,the filter material mainly removes formaldehyde or filters suspended particles by adsorption of activated carbon and other materials,but there are secondary pollution problems caused by saturated adsorption and pollutant breeding bacteria.Therefore,the design of a formaldehyde removal filter material with efficient adsorption and antibacterial function is an effective measure to improve the indoor air purification efficiency.Secondly,with the improvement of people ’s aesthetic consciousness,the structure and appearance design of household air purifiers also need to be innovated according to consumer habits.This topic first investigates and analyzes the function,purification technology and appearance of household air purifiers in the current market,and uses questionnaires,user interviews and other methods to deeply understand the market and demand status of air purifiers.Target users generally have a clear demand for improving the removal rate of formaldehyde,preventing secondary pollution of the filter element and the convenience of replacing the filter element.Then based on the conclusion of market research,the plant extract was used as an antimicrobial functional agent and blended-melt blown with polypropylene(PP)to produce nonwovens fabrics with antimicrobial properties.These nonwovens are further coated with silica aerogel to obtain a filter material with long-term antibacterial and formaldehyde removal.After 30 days of use,the antibacterial rates against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli were 97 % and 83 %,respectively;the filtration efficiency of the filter element with the optimized four-layer structure for 1.75μm particles also reached 98.92 %;and its filtration air resistance was low(pressure drop was 29 Pa),and the adsorption efficiency of formaldehyde reached 91 %.Finally,combined with the target user needs of the questionnaire feedback,the air purifier appearance requirements are creatively designed.The overall appearance of the product comes from the shape of indoor plant pots,transforming the beauty of nature into design;and learn from the concept of modern furniture and product integration,so that products and indoor environment integration;in the way of replacing the filter,the pulling structure is selected to improve the convenience of operation.This topic not only verifies that the designed filter material has long-term antibacterial and efficient formaldehyde removal functions through experiments,but also according to the user ’s comprehensive evaluation,it is generally believed that the products designed in this topic are simple and stylish,easy to operate,and more in line with the preferences of young people.
