Planning And Design Of Suyara Park In Hohhot City Based On Regional Culture

With the advancement of urbanization,urban development has been accelerated and the number of urban parks has increased,thus,urban residents have a higher demand for spiritual civilization besides existing material requirements.However,due to the impact of foreign cultures on the regional culture of our cities and the lack of independent thinking in parks planning,the design of some urban parks only stays on the surface of the form with homogeneous landscape elements,resulting in the serious homogenization of urban parks and the lack of characteristics.Based on this,it is of great importance to study how to introduce regional culture into urban parks.Firstly,this essay gives clarified definitions of concepts related to urban parks and regional culture.Through the study of literature,relevant theories and research processes at home and abroad are both sorted out,and the functions of urban parks,the connotation of regional culture,its constituent elements and classification are elaborated.On this basis,the interrelationship between regional culture and urban parks is discussed,and the importance of introducing regional culture into urban parks is highlighted.Secondly,this essay collates relevant design principles and theories with specific expression strategies proposed,including the principles of expression,the refinement of regional culture themes,the expression vectors of regional culture and their specific techniques.This essay also collects information about the process of Hohhot’s cultural development,and the regional culture of Hohhot,including natural geography and historical and cultural background,aiming to provide design materials for the planning and design of Hohhot Suyala Park.Finally,this essay carries out a planning and design practice of the layout of Hohhot Suyala Park,which intends to demonstrate the ’capital city culture’ of Hohhot.The design theme identifies the city spirit of inclusiveness and acceptance,the inner spirit of tolerance and peace,and the ethnic relations of mutual respect and harmonious coexistence between nationalities as the core topic of Hohhot’s regional culture,which is also the focus of Suyala Park.In the zoning of the park,four main landscape zones,namely Mongolian,Chinese,Hui and Manchu,are set up from east to west to express the historical culture of the co-existence and prosperity of different nationalities,which can promote this cultural spirit in the new era.Besides,this essay also summarizes the design results and puts forward some own ideas and insights.
