| The Hill City Trail is a landscape promenade showcasing the topographical features, humanistic and historical connotations and landscape scenery of the city, and is usually constructed in areas such as mountain ridges, riversides, stream valleys, cliff faces and scenic strips. The slope is an important carrier of the characteristics and spirit of the mountain city trail, and is the inclined surface that walkers can get close to and view, giving the mountainous city road landscape more three-dimensional charm. In recent years the remediation project of the Hill City Trail has been launched, and a large number of bare slopes, dangerous slopes and grey slopes are in urgent need of landscape visual optimisation. How to use the side slope environment to create a landscape that can stimulate positive emotional feelings in walkers is the focus of this study.Based on the clarification of the purpose and significance of the research, this study combines the current situation of domestic and international research, draws up the key problems to be solved in this paper, and establishes the technical line of research for the whole paper. The main research line and framework of "visual characteristics-visual perception" is established in the elaboration and application of relevant concepts and theories.Under the theoretical foundation,a detailed field research and analysis of the slope landscape of the mountain city trail was conducted to summarise the visual characteristics of the slope landscape of the mountain city trail.Using vision-related theories and combined with the visual characteristics research,a visual evaluation system based on the theory of scenic wilderness was established for the slope landscape of the mountain city trail, and finally ten objective evaluation indicators and five subjective evaluation indicators were selected. In other words, this study selects "four degrees"(visual scale, variability, naturalness and explorability)and "five senses"(sense of security, permeability, novelty, closeness and relaxation)as the objective and subjective evaluation criteria of the slope landscape of mountain city trails, and selects 10 objective evaluation indicators(average slope, average DH ratio, average horizontal viewing distance, slope curvature, colour richness, form expression, level staggering, green view rate, construction area percentage, explorable area percentage)and five subjective evaluation indicators(fear-safety,obstruction-permeability,boredom-novelty,distance-intimacy,depression-relaxation).The evaluation system was used to visually evaluate 35 selected experimental sites, and the values of the subjective and objective indicators were calculated and statistically analysed through field surveys,computer-aided visualisation and scoring of the site evaluation questionnaire.By importing the subjective and objective values into SPSS software for correlation analysis, correlations, quantitative relationships and regression expressions between the subjective and objective visual perceptions were derived to provide relevant data support for the optimisation strategy and to carry out the optimisation of the slope landscape design of the three types of mountain town trails. The following are the main findings of the study:(1)The slope landscape of the mountain town trail can visually stimulate the viewer to a greater extent and induce stronger psychological feelings, and the overall visual feeling given to people is inclined towards positive emotions. The five senses of relaxation(mean value 4.05),novelty(mean value 3.94)and closeness(mean value 3.90)are stronger, while the sense of permeability(mean value 3.72)and security(mean value 3.56)are weaker in comparison.(2)The objective evaluation indexes that affect the visual perception of walkers in the slope landscape of the mountain city trail are: green view rate > average horizontal viewing distance > construction area ratio > average slope ratio > explorable area ratio > average DH ratio > colour richness > form expression degree > hierarchical dislocation degree, where the curvature of the slope has no significant effect on the subjective visual perception.(3)According to the partial least squares regression analysis, the implied mathematical calculation relationship between the subjective and objective evaluation indicators was discovered: sense of security = 3.638-0.013 average slope + 0.082 average DH ratio + 0.001 average horizontal viewing distance + 0.004 green view rate +0.004 construction area percentage;sense of permeability = 2.660 + 0.011 average DH ratio + 0.013 average horizontal viewing distance + 0.004 construction area percentage.0.013 average horizontal viewing distance + 0.004 green percentage + 0.003 construction area share;novelty = 2.071 + 0.013 colour richness + 0.213 form expression + 0.152 level dispersion;intimacy = 2.394-0.001 average slope + 0.002 average horizontal viewing distance + 0.017 green percentage + 0.007 construction area share of the construction area + 0.002 of the explorable area;sense of relaxation =2.499-0.001 average slope + 0.002 average horizontal viewing distance + 0.018 green ratio + 0.008 of the construction area + 0.001 of the explorable area.(4)Based on the mathematical calculation of the relationship between the main and client indicators,a visual perception map can be generated with the design site survey data to select the best design point for a certain perception or to optimise and enhance the relevant aspects and planning guidance based on a visual perception that needs to be focused on.Based on the proposed optimisation strategy, the slope landscapes of the Xindu Lane Trail, the Nanbin Road Riverwalk and the Longji Mountain Trail are used as design examples to demonstrate the application of the strategy. |
