| The Long March represents an enduring monument in the annals of China’s revolution and encapsulates the vivid tapestry of the century-long history of the Communist Party of China.In 2019,the Central Committee adopted the ’Construction Plan for the Great Wall,Grand Canal,and Long March National Cultural Parks’.To effectively narrate the story of the Long March and enhance its spirit,Ruijin has initiated several projects in its region,integral to the development of the Long March National Cultural Park(Ganzhou Section).This paper delves into one such project: the First Bridge of the Long March in Wuyang Village,Ruijin City,the embarkation point of the Ninth Army Corps of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army during the Long March,aiming to explore the design of this thematic cultural park.This investigation primarily encompasses the following areas:(1)A comprehensive review and summation of domestic and international theories and practical experiences associated with the construction of the Long March National Cultural Park has been conducted.The study centers around the instructive implications of theories,including landscape ecology,sense of place,landscape narrative,heritage protection,and sustainable development for the edification of cultural parks.Drawing from the unique attributes of the research subjects of this paper,pertinent design principles and strategies have been proposed,thereby constructing a theoretical framework for cultural park design.(2)The First Bridge of the Long March in Wuyang Village,Ruijin City,has been selected as a case study for empirical research.Thorough field surveys and meticulous research enable an analysis of the current development status of Wuyang Village,taking into account several aspects such as location and transportation,natural resources,historical culture,public facilities,vegetation greening,and architectural layout.The research further summarizes the present advantageous resources of Wuyang Village and the challenges it confronts.Informed by this comprehensive analysis,a holistic project design plan and thematic design plans for six functional zones have been proposed.These incorporate specialized designs for supporting public facilities,plant arrangements,and signage systems.(3)The practical application of the project leads to the proposal of a strategic approach and method for the design of the Long March Cultural Park,which fuses red culture as the core thematic element and incorporates Hakka culture.This people-centric design prioritizes the enhancement of the local living environment,striving towards achieving sustainable development and fulfilling the construction objective of rural revitalization. |
