With the rapid development of domestic industry,the requirements for seals are also increasing.The spring energized seal ring studied in this paper is composed of PTFE shell and V-shaped metal spring,which has the properties of low friction coefficient,strong stability and spring rebound characteristics of PTFE when compressed,and can be applied to some extreme working environments such as high and low temperature and high pressure.In this paper,the finite element simulation research and multi-condition performance test of the spring energized seal ring are carried out to analyze the performance of the spring energized seal ring.Aiming at the structural asymmetry of V-shaped springs,an equivalent two-dimensional model of variable section of V-shaped springs is constructed through mechanical analysis.ANSYS established a two-dimensional axisymmetric simulation model for the spring energized seal ring,and carried out radial force tests to verify the accuracy of the simulation model,and the results show that the model can be used for simulation research of spring energized seal ring.The performance evaluation index of the spring energized seal ring was analyzed,the theoretical and simulation research of the spring energized seal ring was carried out,and the stress strain,friction force and contact stress changes of the spring energized seal ring were analyzed.The effective simulation model of the spring energized seal ring is used to study the performance influencing factors of the spring energized seal ring.Based on the reciprocating motion mechanism of the spring energized seal ring,the relationship between the leakage amount and the change of lip contact stress was understood.The theory is used to analyze the performance of the spring energized seal ring under different media pressure,interference amount and lip angle,analyze the effect of V-shaped spring on the spring energized seal ring,and study the relationship between reciprocating speed and friction through experiments.The results show that the greater the medium pressure,the smaller the peak contact pressure,but it is greater than the oil pressure and meets the sealing conditions;The contact stress change showed a trend of increasing first and then decreasing,and the smaller the medium pressure,the greater the pressure gradient change on the fluid side,and the smaller the leakage;The friction force gradually decreases with the increase of the medium pressure,and with the increase of pressure,the change range is getting smaller and smaller;The reciprocating speed has little effect on the friction,and the friction shows a slight increase trend with the increase of the reciprocating speed;In high-pressure environments,V-shaped springs will bring the peak contact pressure close to the fluid side,improving sealing performance;The peak contact stress shows a trend of decreasing first and then increasing with the increase of interference amount,and gradually decreases with the increase of lip angle,and the performance of the spring energized seal ring is better when the lip angle is 30°~45° and the interference amount is 0.3mm.Using the spring energized seal ring test tooling,the friction and leakage test of the spring energized seal ring is carried out on the reciprocating test bench to obtain the actual performance change of the spring energized seal ring when it is used.The results show that the designed tooling can be used with the spring energized seal and can be used for the performance test of the spring energized seal of this model;With the increase of the number of reciprocating movements,the friction first decreases and then increases,and then tends to about 200 N;The leakage volume of the spring energized seal ring increases with the increase of the medium pressure,and the leakage rate increases rapidly with the increase of the number of reciprocating times,and then remains constant for a period of time,and then continues to increase;In the early stage of the spring energized seal ring test,the greater the medium pressure,the greater the leakage rate;The leakage rate of the spring energized seal ring under high pressure increased slowly in the later stage of the test,and the gap between the leakage rate of the spring energized seal ring under high pressure and low pressure gradually decreased,which proved that the spring energized seal ring had good performance in the high-pressure environment.In summary,through numerical simulation and experimental research,this paper analyzes the influencing factors of spring energized seal ring under reciprocating motion,obtains the change law of different working conditions and structural parameters on the performance of spring energized seal ring,obtains the leakage amount and friction test data under the real situation of spring energized seal ring,and provides a reference for the design of this type of spring energized seal ring.
