With the advent of the 5G era and the proposal of digital transformation development policies, remote control of construction machinery has become one of the research hotspots. The remote control of construction machinery not only effectively avoids the problem of poor working environment, ensures the personal safety of the driver, but also improves the operation efficiency. However, most of the existing remote control interactive carriers are two-dimensional planes, which makes it difficult for operators to lack a sense of presence and immersion, and it is difficult to perceive the motion state and real working conditions of construction machinery, resulting in reduced interaction quality and efficiency. The human-computer interaction characteristics of VR technology make up for the lack of immersion and low interaction efficiency of existing remote control. Therefore, this thesis carries out the design of human-computer interaction of construction machinery remote control system based on VR.The research content of this thesis mainly includes the following four parts:(1)Design process research: Firstly, according to the application status, the human-computer interaction mode in virtual reality is summarized, and the principles and characteristics of VR human-computer interaction design are summarized to guide subsequent design research; Then, based on the information flow theory, the information flow direction of the remote control process of construction machinery is analyzed, and the design framework of remote control system of construction machinery is proposed. Finally, according to the design framework, the humancomputer interaction design process of VR-based remote control system of construction machinery is proposed.(2)User demand research: Firstly, taking rotary drilling as an example, the basic needs and behavior data of operators in the process of rotary drilling operation are obtained through questionnaire survey, observation and interview. Then,HTA(Hierarchical Task Analysis)method was used to analyze the operator behavior and construct a remote control task model for rotary drilling. Finally, according to the task model, the functional requirements of the VR remote control system are summarized, and the corresponding design strategies are proposed.(3)Design practice: Firstly, according to the functional requirements, the functional module design scheme of the rotary drilling VR remote control system is proposed; Then, according to the information flow framework, the human-computer interaction model of rotary drilling VR remote control is constructed, and combined with the characteristics of VR human-computer interaction, the remote control interaction mode of rotary drilling VR and the human-computer interaction design scheme for key functional modules are proposed. Then, based on ergonomics,a virtual cockpit space layout design scheme is proposed. Finally, the system interface and visual design scheme are proposed.(4)Scheme evaluation: Scheme evaluation: This part evaluates the design scheme from the aspects of system availability and the rationality of virtual cockpit space design.Unreal Engine 5 was used to develop a prototype of the rotary drilling VR remote control system, and the SUS usability test and human-machine simulation analysis were used to evaluate the scheme respectively. The evaluation data shows that the developed system has good usability and the virtual cockpit space design is reasonable.Taking rotary drilling as an example, this thesis proposes a VR-based humancomputer interaction design scheme for remote control system of construction machinery, builds a prototype of virtual simulation system, and conducts usability evaluation and human-machine simulation analysis of the proposed scheme, which provides a reference for the design of remote control of construction machinery in VR environment. The thesis has a total of 58 figures,17 tables, and 77 references.
