Appropriate Design Of The Vernacular Dwellings Renewal In Xuzhou Under The Background Of Construction Technology

As a carrier of local culture and inheritance,local dwellings have a unique construction system and are the cultural treasure of our Chinese nation.However,with the development of the economy and the rapid expansion of cities,the number of rural areas in China is continuously decreasing,and a large number of local dwellings are on the verge of destruction,as is the case with Xuzhou dwellings.Therefore,updating and designing rural dwellings is an important direction of current research.On the one hand,it is an exploration of the protection form of rural dwellings,on the other hand,it can inherit regional cultural genes,and assist in the development of rural revitalization in China.This thesis focuses on the research direction of the renewal suitability design of Xuzhou rural dwellings,combs the characteristics and connotation of traditional construction techniques for local dwellings,excavates the mechanism and core of construction techniques,and explores the renewal methods of Xuzhou rural dwellings,thereby providing ideas for the suitability transformation of other rural dwellings in northern Jiangsu.The main research contents are as follows:First of all,it analyzes the formation background of local folk houses in Xuzhou,and summarizes unique local construction techniques and values through literature analysis and field research.The thesis mainly analyzes the formation of Xuzhou’s rural dwellings from three aspects: natural background,social environment,and cultural relations;This thesis summarizes the construction technology of Xuzhou vernacular dwellings in detail from three aspects: courtyard layout,architectural form,and structural maintenance,and summarizes the research value of Xuzhou vernacular dwellings in five aspects: "history,art,science,culture,and society".Then,through field research,it summarizes the current development difficulties of Xuzhou vernacular dwellings,and proposes the renewal principles,strategies,and design guidelines for Xuzhou vernacular dwellings.Based on research,the thesis understands the use of Xuzhou rural dwellings,summarizes the development difficulties faced by existing dwellings,and analyzes and summarizes the "suitability" transformation and update cases of excellent rural dwellings in China,providing ideas for exploring the "suitability" transformation and update of Xuzhou rural dwellings.Subsequently,it explores the suitability strategies for the renewal of Xuzhou’s rural dwellings from three aspects: design,technology,and materials,including design methods for courtyards,architectural spaces,residential environments,and regional characteristics,technical research on structural systems,maintenance systems,and detailed structures,as well as the use of updated materials;Combining the above update strategies,the author attempts to compile design guidelines suitable for the renewal of local residential buildings in Xuzhou.Finally,combined with preliminary research and analysis of surveying and mapping data,the updated design practice is carried out.The design selects representative stone residential buildings and historical buildings in the old village of Wushao,Mengzhai Ancestral Hall,to conduct current situation investigation and detailed mapping,and to update the design from three aspects of design,technology,and materials.It further discusses the overall application of the updated suitability design of Xuzhou rural residential buildings.In the new era,this article rethinks the suitability design issues of rural residential renewal in terms of design methods,technology application,and material utilization.By tapping into local traditional construction techniques,it enriches the theoretical system of traditional architectural construction,and contributes to the sustainable development of rural architecture in China.This thesis has 100 figures,40 tables,and 88 references.
