At present,the spatial structure of China’s economic development is undergoing profound changes,and central cities and urban agglomerations are becoming an important vehicle and focus point for solving the problem of unbalanced and inadequate regional development in China.Relying on the long industry chain and strong correlation of tourism to promote the construction of city clusters,it can promote the dynamic balance of economic operation and the optimization and adjustment of industrial structure within city clusters,and realize integrated development.However,the current problems of poor consultation and cooperation in China’s urban agglomerations and the lack of radiation-driven effectiveness of central cities are affecting the development of tourism and are not conducive to enhancing the integration of urban agglomerations.To this end,this study takes the middle reaches of the Yangtze River city cluster as the research object,based on the spatial flow of tourists within the city cluster,using social network analysis,GIS spatial analysis,QAP regression analysis and other methods to focus on the network structure characteristics of tourism flows within the city cluster and its influencing factors,to find out the passenger flow trends and important node cities in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River city cluster,to identify the factors affecting the formation of tourism flow networks in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River city cluster The study will identify the factors affecting the formation of tourism flow networks in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River urban agglomeration,and provide practical guidance for the integrated development of tourism in urban agglomerations.The results showed that:(1)In the network structure of tourism flow nodes in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River urban agglomeration,tourism nodes with high centrality and structural hole levels are the following,they are mainly Wuhan,Changsha,Nanchang,Yueyang,Jiujiang,Xiangtan,Jingzhou and Pingxiang.These nodes are at the core of the tourism flow network and have a high degree of connectivity and control.In contrast,tourism nodes such as Xinyu City,Yiyang City,Xiantao City and Tianmen City have lower levels of centrality and structural holes,and these nodes are not closely enough connected to other nodes and are more dependent on them.(2)The overall network of tourism flows in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River urban agglomeration shows a pattern of closely connected inner triangle regions and sparsely connected outer triangle regions.Among them,the tourism nodes near the inner triangle consisting of Wuhan,Changsha and Nanchang are closely connected,while the tourism nodes near the outer triangle consisting of the entire Yangtze River Central River city cluster are more sparsely connected,so that the overall structure of the network is relatively compact but uneven.The entire network of tourism flows forms seven regional subgroups of the network,each with different numbers of members and significant differences in density.The overall network shows a clear’core-edge’ structure,with 15 core nodes and 16 edge nodes,with the core area having a strong influence on the tourism flows of the edge areas,and the edge areas being highly dependent on the core area.(3)There are relatively few high-flow paths in the tourism flow path network of the middle Yangtze River urban agglomeration,mainly distributed within the Wuhan city circle,while higher-flow paths are mainly distributed within the Poyang Lake city circle and the Changzhutan city circle,and the low-flow paths cover a wider area;in addition,the tourism flow routes of the middle Yangtze River urban agglomeration have significant spatial clustering,with the high-high clustered tourism areas mainly distributed in the central orientation of the urban agglomeration,such as Shangrao City,Jingdezhen City,Jiujiang City and Yueyang City,and the low-low clustered tourism areas mainly in Tianmen City.(4)The results of QAP correlation analysis show that six influencing factors,including spatial distance,total GDP,passenger turnover,the number of scenic spots above grade 4A,the number of domestic tourists and domestic tourism revenue,are significantly related to the tourism flow network in the middle reaches of Yangtze River city cluster,while there is no significant correlation between road mileage and them.The results of QAP regression analysis indicate that the two influencing factors of spatial proximity and economic development level have significant effects on the formation of tourism flow network in the middle reaches of Yangtze River city cluster,while the effect of tourism resource endowment is not significant.
