| Accelerating urbanisation and the growing problem of environmental pollution have led to a widespread recognition of the importance of improving the living environment through landscape design.Landscape performance theory is dedicated to the quantitative and qualitative assessment of landscape projects to determine the level of sustainability of the landscape in terms of its environmental,social and economic benefits,and to provide effective support for planning decisions on landscape design.The Jiangsu Garden Expo adopted the concept of ecological restoration and landscape weaving construction to restore the mountains and vegetation destroyed by industrial production activities,and built a culturally rich and functionally complex garden theme park,which gained wide public attention.In order to enhance the public’s perception of the role of Jiangsu Garden Expo Park and to adequately assess the benefits brought by its landscape,this paper adopts landscape performance theory to conduct a site study of Jiangsu Garden Expo Park.Firstly,this paper introduces the current social and policy context of environmental governance,and discusses the purpose and significance of the landscape performance study of Jiangsu Expo Park.The development of landscape performance theories and platforms at home and abroad is collated and summarised,and the shortcomings of relevant domestic research results are pointed out through comparison.On this basis,the paper conducts basic research on landscape performance theory,sustainable development theory,landscape urbanism and garden expositions,and draws on relevant case studies to determine the focus of landscape performance research on Jiangsu Garden Expo Park.Secondly,based on the current situation,function and construction significance of Jiangsu Garden Expo Park,a set of landscape performance evaluation index system applicable to Jiangsu Garden Expo Park is summarised,and information collection and evaluation of Jiangsu Garden Expo Park site is carried out according to the evaluation system.Specifically,the following: firstly,the AHP hierarchical analysis method was used to construct the landscape performance evaluation system of Jiangsu Garden Expo Park;secondly,by referring to relevant domestic laws and regulations,literature and indicators provided by the landscape performance platforms of China and the United States,five major levels of environmental benefits,social benefits,economic benefits,aesthetic benefits and cultural benefits of Jiangsu Garden Expo Park and 23 evaluation indicators of specific subdivisions were identified;thirdly,relevant experts were Fourth,the overall evaluation results of Jiangsu Garden Expo Park were graded using the comprehensive index method;Fifth,the established evaluation model of Jiangsu Garden Expo Park project was applied to carry out an empirical study to determine the landscape performance evaluation of Jiangsu Garden Expo Park through field research,questionnaire distribution,expert scoring,GIS and In VEST data processing and experimental proof,etc.The overall score is 4.1,which is at the "excellent" level,but some of the indicators have a low score and there is room for further improvement.Finally,through the results of the landscape performance evaluation,combined with the survey of Jiangsu Garden Expo,we summarised the favourable factors and factors that can be improved for the sustainable development of Jiangsu Garden Expo.On this basis,this paper attempts to propose some optimisation principles and strategies,aiming to enhance the sustainable development of the park and to provide a reference for other garden and expo projects being planned or completed.Through these efforts,it is hoped to promote a high-quality development in the level of urban landscape construction and to raise the public’s attention to ecological conservation and cultural heritage,thus making a positive contribution to the common future of mankind. |
