As an important carrier of the city, historic district is the key to protect and develop the city culture. With the accelerated development of urbanization in China, historical blocks are faced with many practical problems, such as deterioration of physical environment, confusion of spatial layout, insufficiency of public space and lack of service facilities. These practical difficulties become the bottleneck of the development of historical blocks, and also make the vitality of blocks decline and decline gradually. In this context,it is urgent to find out the reason of vitality decline of historic blocks, and put forward targeted vitality promotion strategies. In the past, researches on the vitality of historic blocks were mainly qualitative. With the rapid development of multi-source data, quantitative analysis using multi-source data can evaluate the current vitality of historic blocks more scientifically, provide more effective methods for improving the vitality of historic blocks, and help to propose strategies for improving the vitality of historic blocks more scientifically. This thesis constructs a multi-source data-based evaluation system for the vitality of the historic district from two dimensions: the external representation and the influencing factors of the vitality of the historic district, and selects ten evaluation indicators such as the thermal mean, thermal standard deviation,proximity,walk-through,intermediate,comprehensibility,business aggregation and functional mix of the district.Taking the Beidajie historical district of Tongcheng City as the research object,in the analysis of the external representation of vitality, the Baidu heat map of Beidajie on weekdays and rest days was used to derive the heat mean and heat standard deviation of the Beidajie historical district.Using ArcGis,sDNA and SPSS software to analyse the four influencing factors of the North Street Historic Quarter, the results show that there are differences in the internal and external traffic of the North Street Historic Quarter;poor perceptibility of the internal space of the Historic Quarter;and low mixing of the various functional businesses. The correlation between the external representation of vitality and the influencing factors reveals that good traffic conditions,a strongly connected spatial environment and a rich mix of functional businesses play an important role in promoting the vitality of the district. Finally, based on the results of a comparative analysis of the correlation between the external representation of the vitality of the historic district of Beidajie and the factors influencing vitality, the four aspects of external traffic organisation, internal traffic organisation, spatial environment and functional business pattern are proposed respectively to enhance the safety of external roads and improve the articulation of various traffic facilities;improve the internal pedestrian system and strengthen the linkage of internal and external spaces;improve the spatial recognition of streets and alleys and optimise the architectural style along the streets;and position The four strategies to enhance the vitality of the neighbourhood are to serve the people, improve the functions and drive the development of the neighbourhood by catalysts.
