Innovation-driven development,along with the national "14th Five-Year Plan" period for the high quality of housing and urban and rural construction field requirements,Chinese engineering construction industry is in the spring wave of all-round reform and innovation,urgent need to change the previous extensive management mode of high energy consumption,high emission,repetitive production.How to improve the performance of innovation has become an urgent problem for every engineering project to seek a new construction mode with high efficiency and environmental protection through intelligent,digital and green technology means.Previous researches on engineering project innovation generally start from the aspects of technology and system,while researches on the characteristics and management of engineering project team as the main body of innovation are relatively lacking,especially in the specific social background of China.The relationship basis and interaction mode among project team members and between team and stakeholders will greatly affect the implementation and innovation of engineering projects.At the same time,as a group of "paradoxical" contradictory thinking concepts,the impact of "ambivalence" on innovation performance has been a focus of attention by scholars.Based on this,from the perspective of social network,based on the weak linkage and embedding theory,and taking team ambivalent learning as the mediating variable,this paper explores the influence mechanism of internal and external social capital on project innovation performance under the background of engineering projects.This paper firstly combs out the related concepts and lays the corresponding theoretical foundation.Secondly,an exploratory case study is used to interview two project teams,and social network analysis is used to compare the impact of social capital strength of the two project teams on ambivalent learning,and the initial proposition of project team social capital,team ambivalent learning and project innovation performance is proposed.On the basis of literature research and case study,combined with weak linkage and embeddedness theory,a theoretical model is constructed,in which internal and external social capital of a team is the independent variable,team ambivalent learning is the mediating variable,and project innovation performance is the outcome variable.Questionnaires were designed by existing mature scales and distributed to engineering practitioners.336 valid questionnaires were collected.Data analysis and hypothesis testing were carried out by SPSS and AMOS software to obtain the research results of this paper.The results show that both internal and external social capital possessed by project teams positively affects project innovation performance,and team ambivalent learning plays an intermediary role in the process.However,in terms of bivariate balance,according to the semi-partial correlation coefficient,strong internal social capital can aggravate the bivariate learning imbalance of project teams to some extent,but strong external social capital can restrain the bivariate learning imbalance to some extent,and the bivariate learning imbalance has been confirmed to lead to the reduction of project innovation performance.Therefore,this study expands the analysis of the process mechanism of social capital’s learning and innovation in engineering projects from the perspective of social network,further expounds the role of social capital in project teams under the background of engineering projects,and the influence of social capital on ambivalent learning imbalance,so as to provide reference for project teams to acquire and integrate the knowledge and resources needed for innovation.At the same time,the project team members should make reasonable use of the advantages of social capital,and put forward more effective suggestions for project team management of engineering enterprises.
