| The Temple of Literature developed from a place of worship to an ancient government-run school that became a "temple and school as one",and was the architectural vehicle for Confucianism,the orthodox faith of Chinese feudal society throughout the ages.Shou County Confucius Temple is located in West Street,Shou County,Huainan City,Anhui Province,and was built in the Tang Dynasty;the three main buildings were built on the original foundation of the Great Shining Wall in the Qing Dynasty,the Halberd Gate was built in the Ming Dynasty and overhauled in the Qing Dynasty,and the Dacheng Hall was rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty;it was announced as the seventh batch of national cultural relics protection units by the State Council in 2013.However,the research on the architecture of Confucius Temple in Shouxian County is focused on the architectural layout,and there is less research on other aspects.In this context,the study of the architectural form of Shouxian Confucius Temple is determined by combining several field research situations.This paper takes Shouxian Confucius Temple as the research object and the architectural form as the research content;on the basis of the previous research,many field studies and mapping,under the multiple horizons of natural environment,ancient ritual system,city and architecture,etc.,using the methods of literature research and comparative analysis combined with the theoretical basis of architectural form,refining the connotation of the form and analyzing Shouxian Confucius Temple architectural form in depth.Its research results will certainly help the inheritance and protection of traditional architecture in Wanzhong,and then excavate the formation of urban culture,which has important social relevance.This thesis is divided into three parts.Firstly,it presents the problem(Chapter 1),defines the research object,relevant concepts and summarizes the current research status of the temple.Second is the study of the background of the formation of Shouxian Confucian temple architecture(Chapter 2),which explains the relevance of Shouxian’s natural environment,urban construction,humanistic environment and its architectural generation;analyzes the layout formation and form of the ancient city of architecture by combining literature research and field studies;comprehensively elaborates the characteristics of Shouxian traditional architecture by combining diagrams and texts;outlines the current situation of Shouxian Confucian temple architectural complex from three aspects:historical development,site selection and architectural characteristics.Finally,the study of the architectural form of Shouxian Confucius Temple(Chapter3 and 4)is divided into two major parts: architectural layout and building monoliths,which is the core content of the thesis;through data analysis and comparison,the design rules of Shouxian Confucius Temple building roofs,horizontal and vertical profiles,spatial design purposes are clarified;through literature,research and comparison,the overall layout of Shouxian Confucius Temple system,frame and arch form,masonry materials and style of walls,roof ridge practices style,and carving methods and content.The article focuses on the architectural layout system(general layout,spatial creation)and the individual form(architectural space,architectural structure,architectural details)of the Shouxian Confucian temple architecture;for the reasons of the nature of the building and its location,the article compares the Shouxian Confucian temple architecture with the government-style architecture and the Huizhou-style architecture,and concludes that the Shouxian Confucian temple fulfills its mission as a government-run school,such as the Confucian cultural concept,the functional layout of the building,and the regulations.After completing its mission of governmental school,Shouxian Confucius Temple has added more local culture,specifically in the slope of the roof,arch form,node structure,architectural carving techniques,etc.,which reflect the characteristics of local Chu culture and Huizhou architecture.In addition,the deep influence of regional culture on the architecture is further corroborated by the comparison with the JINGDE Temple in southern Anhui of the same period.Figure 【51】 table 【36】 reference 【92】... |
