| The Chinese economy has entered a stage of high-quality development.In order to meet the increasing energy consumption demand of people while reducing environmental pollution,the Chinese government has clearly identified new energy vehicles as a key goal for the future transformation and development of the automotive industry.With the continuous development of economic globalization and competitive globalization,innovation has gradually become the key for new energy vehicle enterprises to enhance and maintain global competitive advantage.Therefore,Chinese new energy vehicle enterprises actively implement the R&D internationalization strategy,attempting to improve their R&D capabilities and innovation performance by acquiring diversified and heterogeneous innovation resources,thereby achieving effective improvement in international competitiveness.However,the actual innovation performance achieved by enterprises after carrying out R&D internationalization needs further in-depth analysis.Therefore,this thesis aims to explore the impact of R&D internationalization of Chinese new energy vehicle enterprises on innovation performance.This thesis is divided into six parts.The first part is an introduction,which mainly introduces the research background,significance,methods,and related literature review.The second part is the theoretical basis and research assumptions.Based on reverse technology spillover theory and springboard theory,it analyzes the impact mechanism of R&D internationalization on innovation performance,and continues to conduct in-depth analysis and propose three research hypotheses.The third part analyzes the current situation of R&D internationalization of new energy vehicle enterprises from two aspects of entry mode and location selection,and analyzes their innovation performance from two aspects of innovation input and innovation output,based on combing the current development situation of China’s new energy vehicle industry.The fourth part is the empirical analysis of this article.Based on the previous two theoretical foundations and three research assumptions,this thesis selects the data of Chinese new energy vehicle listed enterprises from 2012 to 2021,establishes a two-way fixed effect model to process the data,analyzes the impact of the depth and breadth of R&D internationalization on innovation performance,and explores what factors can regulate the impact process.The fifth part is the case study of this article.Select an appropriate new energy vehicle enterprise as the object of this article’s case study.Based on sorting out the current situation of the enterprise’s R&D internationalization and innovation performance,analyze the impact of R&D internationalization on innovation performance from three aspects: reverse technology spillover effect,talent flow effect,and cost sharing effect.The sixth part summarizes the empirical analysis results and case analysis results,and finally comes to the conclusion that the internationalization of research and development(depth and breadth)of Chinese new energy vehicle enterprises can promote innovation performance improvement;The absorptive capacity of enterprises plays a positive role in regulating the above impact process.Finally,according to the above research conclusions,this thesis puts forward the following three targeted suggestions.First,Chinese new energy vehicle enterprises should seize the dividends and opportunities of industrial development,actively carry out R&D internationalization,and strive to embed in the global R&D industry network while continuously expanding the scope of R&D internationalization,then accelerate the access of overseas high-quality research and development resources to effectively improve their own innovation performance.Secondly,Chinese new energy vehicle enterprises should pay more attention to the cultivation and enhancement of their own absorption capacity,continuously improve the ability of enterprise organizations and internal employees to learn,absorb,integrate and re-innovate cutting-edge knowledge and advanced technologies,and maximize the acquisition of innovative results in transnational R&D.Third,Chinese new energy vehicle enterprises should make detailed plans in advance to carry out R&D internationalization,carefully select target countries and entry methods under the premise of clarifying R&D priorities,directions and tasks,and fully consider political risks,reduce the risks and costs of R&D internationalization as much as possible,and effectively improve innovation performance. |
