| This thesis explores innovative approaches to big data-driven product design in terms of data mining models.Currently, big data-driven has become a new trend in the era of product design.However,data-driven product design focuses mainly on the analysis of physical data, ignoring non-functional aspects such as human interaction, visual aesthetics and humanistic care.Starting from a cross-disciplinary perspective, this thesis uses fundamental theoretical analysis and bibliometric analysis of big data innovation as research methods to analyse the factors of historical design paradigm change and obtain the inadequacy of existing data mining models for product design by analysing business cases.A new paradigm for design research based on Michel’s Iconology data mining model is proposed. The paradigm divides the aesthetics of data-driven design into ’formal beauty’ and ’content beauty’,and establishes the Semantic Concept Model and Visual Concept Model to explore the possibilities of data mining models in design.Using the Fang Zhimin Memorial Hall in Nanchang as a case study, this thesis combines fieldwork, data research, data mining techniques and designer co-creation to arrive at a series of representative and creative design works, and to verify the feasibility, superiority and significance of the paradigm in the field of product design. This thesis provides a new paradigm for data-driven design with practical value and theoretical implications. This thesis is divided into seven chapters, with the theme of constructing a multi-dimensional "visual" + "semantic" model, and discusses in three steps: problem identification, problem analysis, and problem solving.Firstly, the purpose and significance of this study are explained by explaining the background of the topic and sorting out the basic theoretical concepts and development of big data mining innovation design. The purpose of this study is to explore the problems and obstacles of product innovation design in the context of data mining.Next, the literature analysis method is used to sort out the basic theories, elaborate the changes of design paradigms in different historical eras, and try to find the laws from them. Then,we use business cases of data innovation design for inductive analysis to find the shortcomings of current data-driven design. He then uses the fundamental theory to establish a multi-dimensional "visual" + "semantic" dual model and advocates a quantitative approach to address the subjective factors that arise in design.Using Jane Dark’s "primary" model Ducker’s "primary generator" model is used to build a new design paradigm for the digital era.The model is "data-driven-impulse-conjecture-analysis".By leaving the process of "type screening" in design to data mining, the designers’ creativity is preserved and they are no longer constrained by their own cognitive structure and potential external conditions. Finally, through the field survey and data research of Fang Zhimin Memorial Hall in Nanchang, the design analysis model of data mining is combined with the designers to create design works to verify the feasibility of the new paradigm of design research based on the data mining model of Michel’s iconography. |
