| The joint operation of major airlines and regional airlines is of great significance to the air transportation system, not only to expand the market share of major airlines and enhance their competitiveness, but also to promote the healthy development of regional airlines and maintain stable profitability. For example,Huaxia Airlines has launched a transit joint operation and actively cooperated with major airlines to achieve fast access of passengers from regional cities to central cities and improve the efficiency of airline operation. Therefore,it is necessary to conduct an in-depth study on the joint operation mode of major and regional airlines. The focus of this thesis is to study the joint operation problem of major and regional airlines with respect to the development pattern of China’s major and regional airlines. The content mainly includes the following aspects: firstly,a general model of joint operation of major and regional airlines is constructed by linear inverse demand function and solved backwards to obtain the equilibrium profit under different modes.Secondly, market uncertainty, market size and cost factors are added to analyze the differences of cooperation modes of major airlines under the market uncertainty effect, market size effect and cost effect respectively. Finally, based on the analysis of the model, numerical simulation analysis is added to validate the results of the theoretical model, and relevant suggestions and management insights are given.Several conclusions were obtained as follows:(1)The size of the regional market is the main influencing factor for mainline airlines to choose the external cooperation model.(2)When choosing the capacity purchase model and subsidiary model, cost is the only factor affecting the choice of mainline airlines.(3)When choosing revenue sharing model and subsidiary model, both market size and operating cost are the main factors influencing their choices.(4)The greater the market uncertainty is,the less likely it is for major airlines to choose the subsidiary model, the capacity purchase model and the revenue sharing model. |
