Global warming and the problems caused by the energy crisis have widely affected the security and development of countries around the world,and they all stem from the carbon emissions caused by human social activities.It has become an international consensus to reduce carbon emissions and follow the path of sustainable development.In order to solve the world’s carbon emission problem,President Xi Jinping has put forward the strategic goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality,and incorporated it into the overall layout of China’s ecological civilisation construction.And with the development of China’s economy and the acceleration of urbanisation,the proportion of carbon emissions from the construction sector in the total carbon emissions has been rising.As the main place of urban residents’ life and activities,settlements are one of the important sources of carbon emissions in cities,and their low-carbon renewal can not only promote the construction of low-carbon cities,but also play a very important role in achieving the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.The main research content and framework of this thesis has been established after reviewing the literature of domestic and international research results on regeneration of settlements and carbon emission calculation and influencing factors.In this thesis,three settlements in Tangshan City,Hebei Province,were selected for the study of low carbon regeneration strategies in the building sector,and questionnaires were distributed.Based on the carbon footprint perspective,the emission factor method was applied to calculate the carbon emissions in the operational phase of the settlements,and statistical analysis based on actual measurement data was used to filter the factors affecting the carbon emissions of the settlements.The data was processed through Excel and SPSSAU platforms,and further quantitative calculations were carried out using correlation analysis to establish a multiple linear regression equation and analyse its influence mechanism.Finally,a qualitative analysis was carried out in conjunction with the regression equation to clarify the direction of settlement renewal.The strategy is based on four aspects: spatial optimisation of settlements,renewal of building units,use of renewable energy and sustainable operation of settlements,which can reduce the average carbon emissions of settlements by about 36% compared to the previous one.It helps to reduce carbon emissions from the construction sector and achieve the objectives of the dual carbon strategy.
