Reserch On Chengdu Metro Airport Line Guidance System Design From The Perspective Of Regional Culture

Metro transportation boasts its large capacity,safety and convenience,wide coverage,timeliness,etc.The Metro Airport Line,a special line in the city metro,mainly connects the city with the airport.The Line makes the transportation between the airport and the city more convenient,has stable running hours,reduces traffic jams,and provides the convenience for passengers’ planning time.Compared to regular city subway lines,the airport line stands in a unique position.Due to the different passengers,their riding needs and the purposes of their rides,airport lines function more specially than regular lines.The subway also shoulders a responsibility of disseminating culture,and the subway airport line can convey the image of a city to a large extent.The first contact of foreign visitors to the city and the last feeling before they leave are likely to appear on the subway airport line.Therefore,the cultural construction of metro airport lines should be distinguished from normal routes to create exclusive features.A large amount of data was collected on domestic and foreign rail transit airport lines in the early stage of this study,and both theoretical and practical research was done on the design of the guidance system and the application of regional culture.horizontally analysis and compare the design characteristics of different domestic wayfinding types to know the differences of design approaches through the comparison of the current situation at home and abroad.With the help of the survey on passenger demand and satisfaction of Chengdu Metro Airport Line,we propose the existing problems of the design of the guidance system of Chengdu Metro Airport Line,and propose the subsequent design methods and practices based on the problems.Analyze the value of regional culture in the design of the Chengdu subway airport line,and propose regional design principles based on the characteristics of regional culture,namely: thematic principle,regional uniqueness principle,cultural principle and emotional principle.And based on this,the design method is proposed to correspond to the problems raised in the previous paper.In this study,Chengdu Metro Line 10 Upper Taiping Yuan Station is selected for design practice,and Chengdu culture is integrated into the wayfinding design of the metro airport line.The goal is to optimize the design of the current metro airport line guidance system,strengthen the special features of the line,and create a cultural and interesting guidance system.The practice firstly conducted on-site research and analysis of Taiping Garden Station to understand the environmental space,analyze important nodes and make key adjustments.Secondly,we determined the target cultural elements and proposed the theme of the wayfinding design for the Chengdu Metro Airport Line,"Self-execution in Jinguan City".Then the design of the guide graphics based on the regional culture was carried out,combining cultural semantic transformation with the design of the guide sign,and applying the auxiliary graphics to the guide design through emotional design.The design practice not only creates an exclusive guide system for the Chengdu Metro Airport Line,but also satisfies the spiritual needs of passengers and enhances the public’s sense of local cultural identity;it also promotes cultural communication and enhances the brand value and urban image of Chengdu Metro.
