With the direction of distributed computing,cloud computing,and localization,the transformation of financial institutions from traditional architecture to distributed architecture has become a mainstream trend.However,this process has always faced three major challenges:the complexity of bank system architecture,the complexity of IT infrastructure architecture,and the significant increase in system complexity due to distributed architecture,which leads to an increase in the instability factors of business systems.To solve the above problems,a bank benchmarked industry-leading technologies and designed and executed a series of experiments through a chaos engineering platform,in order to discover hidden risks and weak links in information system technology architecture and operational processes in advance,thereby comprehensively improving the stability and reliability of the information system.This article takes the example of a bank’s chaos engineering platform project to study project risk management.Firstly,the research content and methods are introduced,then the theory and model of project risk management are studied,the characteristics of chaotic engineering platform project risk management are summarized,and the necessity of adopting risk management is illustrated.Secondly,according to the actual situation of the project,the project team adopted the CRM model,which allowed project members to better manage potential risks.Thirdly,the project scale is relatively large and the time limit is relatively tight.In the stage of risk identification,the project team uses brainstorming method and other methods to jointly identify risk items,and uses inductive summary method and expert judgment method to summarize and classify the risk items.In the stage of risk assessment,based on the actual situation of the project,the risk assessment index method is adopted,and the quantitative evaluation is made by combining the expert scoring method.Finally,since the project involves multiple teams,risk response measures are promptly synchronized to project team members and stakeholders in the risk response phase.In the risk monitoring phase,the project team conducts risk monitoring through periodic evaluations,key performance indicators,and regular meetings.The whole team pays attention to risk management through weekly meetings,morning meetings,and ad-hoc communication mechanisms.Based on the study of project risk management in a bank’s chaos engineering platform project,the project team was able to better plan and manage the project,reduce project failure risks and project costs,improve project quality and project efficiency,and successfully deliver the project,thereby improving customer satisfaction.This case study also provides a risk management example for other banks’ chaos engineering platform projects.
