| In the road human machine environment system, traffic signs are an essential component, and a reasonable number can guide drivers to carry out effective operations and ensure safe driving. If the number of traffic signs is insufficient or too many,it is not conducive to efficient access to road traffic information for drivers, which can easily cause traffic congestion and even accidents, posing an undeniable safety risk to oneself and other vehicles on the road. The research relies on the National Natural Science Foundation project to recruit drivers with different driving experiences to conduct simulated driving experiments by setting different speed and visibility conditions. The relationship between the number of traffic signs and the visual indicators and visual transfer characteristics of drivers is analyzed, and a suitable threshold for the number of traffic signs is obtained through comprehensive analysis.Based on the driver’s recognition process of traffic signs and in combination with relevant regulations, five levels of traffic sign quantity were set.24 drivers of different genders and driving experience were selected as experimental samples to build a driving environment based on urban main roads, while adding necessary transportation facilities to simulate a real driving environment.Using a SILAB driving simulator and a Smart eye tracker, record driver eye movement data. The mathematical statistics method was used to process and analyze the driver’s eye movement data.Analyze the driver’s gaze time, scanning time, and pupil diameter, and fit the driver’s eye movement indicators under different number of traffic signs using Gaussian or exponential distribution.By observing the average value of eye movement indicators and the trend of changes in the box plot, analyze the influence of the number of traffic signs on the driver’s visual indicators.According to the dynamic clustering method, the driver’s gaze interest regions were divided, and the trend of the proportion of driver’s gaze within each interest region changing with the number of traffic signs under different driving conditions was analyzed. The gaze difference value and gaze difference rate of each region were calculated, and the degree of driver’s attention to each region was studied.Using Markov chain theory, calculate the impact of changes in the number of traffic signs on the driver’s visual transfer probability, analyze the driver’s identification ability and information search strategy;Further calculate the probability of visual stationary distribution and analyze the driver’s preference trend for visual attention in various areas within the field of vision.Comprehensive analysis of the impact of the number of traffic signs on the visual indicators and visual transfer characteristics of drivers with different driving experiences under different driving conditions of speed and visibility. When the number of traffic signs is 2-3,the driver’s visual attention distribution is relatively average, and their visual search ability is good. They can comprehensively obtain traffic sign information in their field of view, which is conducive to driving safety. |
