| The primary objective of urban waterfront landscape design is to enhance the urban environment,stimulate economic and cultural advancement,and preserve and display the distinctive features of urban waterfront landscapes.By utilizing urban waterfront landscapes as a vehicle,developing ecological leisure activities can provide certain advantages,elevating the city’s allure.In 1987,Kisho Kurokawa merged "coexistence" and "cohabitation" into "symbiosis" in his work "Symbiotic Thinking." This concept has since been applied across various fields and represents a multidisciplinary research achievement.Since the Tang Dynasty,the urban area of Yangzhou has gradually receded towards the canal,but construction has always occurred along the canal’s periphery.During the Ming and Qing dynasties,it evolved into a renowned city that combines commercial metropolis and culture.The ancient canal bank embodies Yangzhou’s long-term development and thus requires significant transformation and construction.With the city’s rapid growth comes environmental pollution,declining natural ecology,and loss of historical cultural.It is imperative to effectively utilize this unique resource of the ancient canal for scientific and rational waterfront landscape design.Guided by policies,the landscape along the ancient canal in the south of Yangzhou City is analyzed,and the symbiotic concept is introduced into the waterfront landscape design,ensuring excellent symbiotic design of the landscape along the ancient canal in the south of Yangzhou City.The current situation of the landscape along the ancient canal in the south of Yangzhou City is expounded through literary research,case analysis,and on-site investigation.The design principles and strategies of the landscape along the ancient canal in the south of Yangzhou City are summarized according to upper-level planning.The principles of humanistic and economic symbiosis,humanistic and ecological symbiosis,and ecological and economic symbiosis are proposed.Specific design schemes are implemented based on the design strategies of symbiotic viewing,symbiotic experience,and symbiotic emotional memory.As a crucial component of the city,waterfront landscapes can only move towards the life era and connect with the future if humanistic,ecological landscapes,and economic coexist.Based on the concept of symbiosis,the design of the landscape along the ancient canal in the south of Yangzhou City can expand and supplement the design of waterfront landscapes at the micro level,providing some reference design methods for future relevant waterfront landscape designs. |
