Purpose:Construction industry has contribution to economic development of developing countries.This research has highlighted the importance of leadership for the culture and performance of a construction project with respect to construction industry.The objectives were to examine the relationship and impact of leadership traits on organizational culture firstly and on project performance secondary in construction projects.This research may be useful for construction projects existing in Malaysia,project leaders,managers,employees serving in these projects,and HR departments attached to construction projects.This research is limited to managers and employees of construction projects existing in Malaysia.Methodology:Researcher has selected Organizational Culture and Project Performance as the dependent variables while leadership as the independent variable.This research used a quantitative research approach.A random sampling technique was applied during selecting managers and employees from select construction projects.An online survey was conducted with Google Form of selected construction projects.Crounbach’s alpha,regression and correlation,frequency distribution were applied on recorded data and analyze data with SPSS software.Findings:The study has established that positive leadership traits do positively and significantly affect the organizational culture in construction projects and overall project and team performance.Results showed that about 77.6%variation in leadership impact on organizational culture and 91.1%variation in leadership impact on project performance was explained with selected leadership traits.Culture of a project and success of project depends more on leadership.There is high linear relationship in proposed model.Both hypotheses were positive and accepted.It is accepted that effective leadership has positive and significant impact on organizational culture.It is accepted that effective leadership has positive and significant impact on project performance in construction projects.
