Research On The Optimization Strategy Of Street Space In The Old City Of Huaiyang Based On The Theory Of Place Spirit

The old urban area of historical cities and towns is an important carrier of the precious cultural heritage of the Chinese nation,which embodies the wisdom of the ancients and the connotation of urban culture.Its street space is not only responsible for urban traffic links and organizing urban order,but also provides urban residents with a space for daily leisure and communication.It is not only the memory of people’s traditional life,but also an important way to intuitively perceive the charm of cities and towns.However,the motorized development and the urban construction of "thousands of cities and one side" have seriously damaged the traditional features of the old urban areas of historical cities and towns,resulting in the rupture of the context of the street space and the loss of the sense of place,thus greatly reducing the residents’ sense of identity and belonging to the environment.In the context of improving the quality of urban stock and enhancing the spiritual needs of residents,the optimization of street space based on the theory of place spirit is a direction worthy of efforts.This paper selects the place and place spirit theory to systematically recognize the street place from two aspects: the overall environment of the street space and people’s experience and perception of the overall environment of the street space;From the perspective of improving the place spirit of "sense of direction" and "sense of identity",the construction path of street place spirit is constructed: respect and adapt to the street natural environment,create an artificial space for emotional identity,continue the street behavior subject of communication,organize and guide Street behavior activities;After that,select the streets in the old city of Huaiyang as the research object,examine the spirit of various street places in the old city,and put forward the optimization strategy of street space based on the theory of place spirit in view of its current situation on the basis of a full study of its street entity space composition,behavior subjects,behavior activities and Huaiyang regional culture;Finally,the control indicators of the building elements of street place spirit in the optimization strategy are sorted out,and the street design guidelines of Huaiyang old city based on the place spirit theory are preliminarily formed.The article clarifies the application value of the place spirit theory to the street space in the old urban area of contemporary historical towns;It provides the application path of the theory of place spirit to street space,and provides ideas for the practical application of the abstract theory of place spirit;It enriches the research content of the street space in the old city of Huaiyang,and provides practical suggestions for the spiritual construction of the street space or other public spaces in the old city of Huaiyang;This paper attempts to compile Huaiyang street design guidelines from the perspective of place spirit,which provides a specific reference for the practice of building street place spirit,and has certain reference significance and practical value.
