Research On The Influence Of Airport Economy On Regional Innovation

As a new economic development model,airport economy is gradually becoming an important driving force for the upgrading of regional industrial structure and the high quality of economic development.After the airport localization reform,under the promotion of national policies and the key planning of provinces and cities,the number of domestic airport economic zones has increased rapidly.At the same time,it should also be noted that the domestic airport economy started late.Although the airport economy in Shanghai,Hangzhou and other cities has a good development trend,from the perspective of spatial planning and functional operation,the airport economy in most cities is still in the period of exploration and growth.Compared with the airport economic construction in some developed countries,there is a large gap.The domestic aviation market and airport industry still have huge spatial potential to be explored.Accurately grasping the development characteristics of airport industry and exploring the appropriate airport economic model will help to build a modern industrial system around the frontier fields,cater to the new round of industrial reform trend for the region,find the starting point of scientific and technological innovation for the regional economy under the new era background,realize the high-end and rationalization of industrial structure,change the mode of economic development,and highlight the significance of high-quality economic development.Therefore,how to give full play to the advantages of domestic demand market and air transport,and how to "invigorate" enterprise technological innovation,enhance the resilience of regional economic development,build a new pattern of regional economic development,and create a new situation of China’s economic development,driven by the airport industry,is becoming an important subject that the country and regions continue to explore and practice.This paper takes 56 cities that have officially operated airport economy in China as the research object,constructs a multi-stage did model to test whether the establishment of airport economic zone and airport economic demonstration zone have a significant impact on regional innovation.Then,the intermediary effect model is constructed to analyze the mechanism of airport economy on regional innovation.The results show that:(1)the development of airport economy has significantly improved the level of regional innovation;(2)The establishment of airport economic demonstration zone has a significant effect on regional innovation,but its impact is less than that of the first establishment of airport economic zone;(3)Airport economy can improve regional traffic conditions,optimize urban location advantages,gather innovative basic resources,make it more attractive to R&D funds as a whole,and generate impetus to regional innovation through R&D fund accumulation;(4)At present,the impact of domestic air cargo industry on high-tech industrial agglomeration is not significant.It is impossible to accelerate knowledge spillover and improve regional innovation level by attracting high value-added industries.Based on the mechanism analysis and empirical conclusions,the following policy recommendations are put forward:(1)build a national and regional air cargo hub to form a logistics center with efficient connection between regions and expand the aviation radiation circle;(2)The airport economic zone shall be scientifically planned based on the geographical location,airport construction level and economic and industrial conditions of the areas where each civil aviation airport is located and adjacent areas;(3)Evaluate the relatively well-developed Airport Economic Zone and reasonably set up various leading airport economic demonstration zones;(4)Enhance the comprehensive strength of the city,such as improving the treatment of labor,improving laws and regulations such as intellectual property protection,and improving the attractiveness of the city to innovative elements;(5)Select leading types of airport related industries,formulate industrial development plans,attract airport related high-tech industries to settle in through preferential policies for high value-added enterprises,and take measures such as tax reduction and exemption,so as to give full play to airport related economic advantages,build airport related high-tech industrial parks,and create a good platform for regional innovation;(6)Cultivate professionals and teams to build the airport economic zone,build the airport economic zone with high efficiency and high standards,and look for "starting points" to improve the regional innovation level.
