Research On Urban Mixed Traffic Flow Characteristics Considering Autonomous Driving

Abstract/Summary:
In recent years,along with the constant expansion of Internet technology and the continuous improvement of enterprise automation management level,is now a part of self-driving vehicles into the city road,can think of the future part of the transportation system will also change,urban traffic flow will be automatic and manual driving long-term human traffic flow motorised.Therefore,it is very important to study the basic research of the new generation of traffic flow,which is the hybrid of automatic and manual driving vehicles.The main purpose of this paper is to analyze the characteristics of mixed traffic flow of automatic driving and manual driving.With the help of the basic theory of cellular automata,this paper builds a mixed traffic flow model of dual lanes of automatic driving and manual driving on urban roads in China,and then applies software modules such as MATLAB to carry out systematic simulation.The analysis of vehicle running and safety characteristics in the mixed traffic of automatic and manual driving on urban roads is carried out as follows:(1)A comprehensive analysis of the degree of difference between different reaction times of automatic driving and manual driving vehicle systems was made,and a thorough and systematic study was conducted on the traffic flow characteristics under mixed traffic environments with different reaction times,different mixing ratios and different lane change probabilities of the automatic driving vehicle system.(2)The standard deviation of the average speed of traffic flow,the standard deviation of the following distance,the number of lane changes per kilometer per hour and the collision time were introduced to evaluate the safety of mixed traffic flow.The simulation results show that the larger the proportion of mixed driving of autonomous driving vehicles and the shorter the response time of autonomous driving vehicles,the traffic flow of the road can be increased,and with the increase of the proportion of autonomous driving,the fluctuation range of the traffic flow near the capacity also increases.In the congested phase,the mixing of autonomous driving vehicles can significantly improve the congested condition of traffic flow.The mixing proportion of autonomous driving vehicles is increasing,while the standard deviation of speed and following distance are gradually decreasing.Meanwhile,the increasing mixing of autonomous driving vehicles can significantly reduce the number of road changing.Prolong the potential collision time of vehicles and reduce the collision ratio of vehicles.Therefore,the increase of the proportion of autonomous driving improves the stability of traffic flow and reduces the potential dangers in traffic flow.
