In recent years, with the implementation of the "One Belt,One Road" initiative and the acceleration of urbanization, the scale of production and operation of China’s construction enterprises has continued to expand, the total output value of the construction industry has continued to grow, the status of the pillar industry of the national economy has been firmly established, and continues to play a significant role in absorbing the employment of rural migrants, promoting new urbanization and maintaining social stability. However, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, although the total profit of construction enterprises has continued to grow, the profit rate of construction industry output value(the ratio of total profit to total output value)has not exceeded 4% in the past 10 years. The continued decline of profit margins has become a common problem faced by the entire industry and has seriously hindered the sustainable development of construction companies. Therefore, strengthening project construction cost control has increasingly become the top priority of construction companies. As a hot topic in society, construction cost control has also aroused extensive discussion in the academic community. However,as a dynamic and continuous control process, construction cost control also requires comprehensive, feasible, and time-advanced control methods to promote construction control measures and methods becoming more perfect and mature. This article focuses on studying the positive effects of technological factors, especially the Building Information Modeling(BIM)combing with traditional cost control methods and theories,on the cost control of ordinary construction projects under the conditions of the new era.By combining traditional experience with advanced technology, this article is expected to find a more effective cost control method. This article first introduces the development process of cost management, briefly describes the concept and main composition of construction cost control, its method and process. Then it combines construction cost management theory and Building Information Modeling(BIM)theory and applies case analysis, literature research and other methods to analyze the current status of project cost control in AT company, that is,there is insufficient personnel awareness of cost management, ignoring the impact of quality and construction schedule on cost, lacking of scientific and complete cost management system, and information management level is backward.Through analyzing the specific case of the first phase of the LD project,we found the specific reasons for the cost control imbalance of the project, including frequent design changes leading to reduced construction profits, imbalances in construction period, quality and cost management, imperfect material management system, imperfect performance appraisal, and incomplete information communication system and other cost control system issues. In order to better solve the above problems, this article proposes to introduce information technology into cost control, combining traditional construction cost control methods with BIM technology to improve the accuracy and pre-control ability of cost control, and apply it to the second phase of the LD project.By drawing lessons from the first phase and improving cost control techniques and methods, the construction cost prediction, planning, control, accounting, analysis and assessment process of the second phase of the LD project have been improved, and a good cost control effect has been achieved. It is hoped that the research in this article can help construction companies improve their existing problems, enhance their cost control capabilities and market competitive advantages, and better promote their long-term development. |
