Research On The Screening And Configuration Model Of Low-maintenance Flower Border Plants In Jinan Urban Park

In response to the national advocacy for green development and ecological civilization,various regions across the country have begun to strengthen the construction and renovation of parks and green spaces.As a highly ornamental plant landscape in parks,flower border have been actively promoted and applied in Jinan.However,there are problems in the selection of plant materials and configuration patterns that lead to high maintenance costs,which hinder the progress of Jinan’s flower border and the construction of economical parks.With the emergence of the concept of low maintenance flower border,these problems can be easily solved.This thesis uses literature analysis,field investigation,expert consultation,and analytic hierarchy process to first elaborate on the concept and characteristics of low maintenance flower border based on ordinary flower border.Afterwards,corresponding improvement strategies were proposed for the current application status of flower borders.Finally,low maintenance flower border plant materials suitable for application in Jinan urban parks were selected,and low maintenance flower border configuration models were proposed based on different sites within Jinan urban parks.The main contents and conclusions of this thesis are as follows: Firstly,this article conducts research and analysis on the application of flower border in 23 urban parks in Jinan,and provides a brief description of representative parks.A total of 175 species from 157 genera and 56 families were identified as the main types of plants used in flower border.The article also summarizes the problems with the application of flower border,including plant selection,landscape form,sustainability,and maintenance,and proposes corresponding strategies to enhance flower border based on the concept of low maintenance flower border.Secondly,using the analytic hierarchy process,a low maintenance flower border plant evaluation system was established.After screening 175 species,33 species were recommended as the most suitable for low maintenance flower border,including one perennial vine,two flowering shrubs,two annual or biennial herbaceous plants,and 28 perennial herbaceous plants.Finally,the article summarizes the basic configuration mode of low-maintenance flower landscapes: " skeleton plants-theme plants-filling plants," including perennial flowering herbs,perennial foliage herbs,and annual or biennial flowering plants for ground cover.According to the different planting sites in Jinan’s urban parks,the article classifies low maintenance flower border into five categories:roadside,square,wall,lawn,and waterside,and recommends plants and summarizes the configuration mode for each category.
