Abstract/Summary:
Urban Human Factors Engineering is an emerging interdisciplinary field that evolved from Human Factors Engineering and urban construction theories. It has emerged alongside the highquality urban construction of the new era.As a theory, methodology, and practical strategy focusing on urban and architectural living spaces,it has been widely applied in urban design. In recent years, urban rail transit construction has developed rapidly.Subway stations,as important nodes in urban transportation systems, are not only one of the most vibrant urban public spaces but also significant venues that serve functions such as pedestrian distribution and transfers. However, the limitations of high enclosure, monotony, uneven spatial and temporal distribution of passenger flow, and insufficient construction experience not only severely affect the quality and comfort of space but also have negative impacts on pedestrians. Therefore, this thesis takes Urban Human Factors as its theoretical basis and spatial comfort as its research direction, with subway stations in Jinan as the research objects.Based on qualitative research on psychological perception and quantitative research on actual measurements,it obtains relevant information on pedestrian evaluations and physical environments of the stations. After combining System Dynamics, correlation analysis, and factor analysis, four factors influencing station spatial comfort are identified: spatial factors, transportation factors, decorative sign factors, and management service factors. Moreover, ridge regression analysis is conducted on static physical quantities such as area and dynamic physical quantities such as wind speed obtained from correlation analysis. The main variables in the resulting comfort formula are then analyzed and studied, laying the theoretical foundation for subsequent research.Subsequently, the thesis focuses on the spatial and transportation factors that influence spatial comfort. It models and simulates station spaces and transportation by calibrating pedestrian parameters such as speed and quantity through field investigations. With the aid of the social force model software Anylogic, the current situation of the stations is analyzed and simulated, and optimization strategies for the spatial layout of station hall facilities are proposed from different perspectives. Finally, the study focuses on the decorative sign factors influencing spatial comfort. As the main subject of various decorations in subway station halls and playing a critical role, the current situation and passenger boarding and alighting behaviors are analyzed and summarized.Based on the content, type, and layout of the signs, configuration analysis is conducted.By combining space syntax with pedestrian traffic simulation,Depth Map and Anylogic software are used to simulate and optimize station spatial signage, and optimization strategies for station hall guidance signs are proposed.
