With the rapid formation of the urban rail network operation pattern, the passenger flow in the station is increasing. In the transfer channel, the pedestrian streamline is complex at the junction of multi-section facilities, and the phenomenon of pedestrian blockage and retention is serious.Designers and managers often expect to understand the pedestrian movement, the bottleneck distribution and the evacuation effect before the construction of station. The study is of great significance for improving the efficiency of pedestrian transfer and optimizing the organization of passenger flow organization schemes by research of pedestrian behavior characteristics in urban rail transit transfer channel and simulation of the process of pedestrian transfer movement. The research contents are as follows:(1)Analysis of pedestrian behavior characteristics in urban rail transit transfer channel.Based on comprehensive pedestrian movement influence factors and transfer characteristics, data of pedestrian is collected using grid-based semi-automatic detection method.Pedestrian micro and macro behavior characteristics is analyzed, involution index about pedestrian transfer efficiency and safety are sorted out to evaluate the pros and cons of the pedestrian simulation model and the efficiency and safety of pedestrian transfer.(2)Research on the improvement of pedestrian behavior model in urban rail transit transfer channels.Considering the needs of both operators and passengers, the pedestrian microscopic simulation model for urban rail transit transfer channels is established. The model is divided into two parts: a path re-planning model and a pedestrian social force model. The former adopts the improved artificial potential field-A* algorithm to calculate the expected direction of pedestrian movement and substitutes it into the calculation of the latter’s driving force. And then the social force model is improved by considering pedestrians’ behaviors such as companionship, following and transcending.(3)The simulation reperforms the pedestrian transfer movement to verify the reliability and adaptability of the model. The four parameters of average speed, average density, maximum density, and pedestrian throughput are selected to compare the simulation results of the model before, and then to evaluate the efficiency and safety of pedestrian transfer. The results show that the fluctuation range of pedestrian movement in the T-shaped transfer channel is between 7.68~23.5%,pedestrian transfer status is better than L-shaped and Y-shaped structures.(4)Using Visual Studio 2017 as a development tool, the design and development of the pedestrian simulation software system V1.0 for urban rail transit transfer passages was realized by C++ programming language. And taking the transfer passage of a subway line 2 as an example, the application was carried out. Therefore it is verified that the pedestrian microscopic simulation model and pedestrian simulation system established are feasible for solving the pedestrian congestion problem in the transfer channel.
