Dramatic Form Design Of Urban Historical And Cultural Blocks

Since the reform and opening up,China’s economy has grown rapidly and urbanization process has advanced constantly.The development of urbanization makes the living environment of the people better,but the expansion of the new city space also leads to the repeated compression of the old city space.In the past,some areas lacked the awareness of protecting regional culture value of urban historical and cultural blocks,so most of the renovations were to demolish original buildings directly to reconstruct,which resulted in many urban historical and cultural blocks had been ruined.However,with the improvement of laws and regulations related to the protection of cultural heritage,the concept of urban historical and cultural blocks has become tangible,and our country has paid more and more attention to the protection of these historical and cultural city blocks.Meanwhile,in order to adapt to the urbanization in the new era,the functional expansion of urban historical and cultural blocks has also begun.After the supply-side reform,the reconstruction of urban historical and cultural blocks no longer only pursues functional upgrading,but also emphasizes that the value of historical and cultural blocks should not only attach importance to material but also non-material,and the unique regional customs and humanistic values of the blocks should be explored to preserve the collective memories of the people who live here.Taking the upgrading of protection modes of urban historical and cultural blocks as the clue,this paper explores the conservation status of urban historical blocks and then finds that some problems commonly exist in the renovation of urban historic districts that overemphasize functional upgrading,including unclear geographical characteristics,neglect of humanistic values,and serious commercialization as well as homogenization.By analyzing successful cases,it is found that the form of "drama plus cultural tourism" has been used to create urban image,which has achieved results.Simultaneously,in recent years,the theater industry has tried a lot of cross-border cooperation and achieved radical innovation,especially the creation of immersive theater,which has made the film-watching sites no longer limited,and the narrative structure can also be non-linear and multi-line parallel,paying more attention to experience feeling of "people-oriented".Inspired by this and in order to solve the above-mentioned problems,better preserve local regional culture as well as restore local and traditional living situations,the urban historical and cultural blocks can be the carrier of theatrical performances.It can restore the social life of historical and cultural blocks with human touch,and make its regional humanistic characteristics more clear through the dramatic form design of the block environment and characters,etc.This paper analyzes the advantages,necessity and feasibility of the dramatic form design of urban historical and cultural blocks,and discusses how to make good use of the unique artistic language of dramatic form design to make urban historical and cultural blocks diversified and sustainable.Taking eighteenth stairs in Chongqing which applies dramatic form design as an example,it can provide a reference for the renovation design of urban historical and cultural blocks in the future.
