| Flexible reinforcement is an effective method to treat expansive soil diseases,and UHMWPE fiber is a new kind of special fiber material which has been rapidly developed and gradually popularized in engineering in recent years.In order to explore the possibility of adding reinforcement to this new fiber material to improve the treatment of expansive soil diseases,a series of experimental studies were conducted on the effects of different lengths and dosage of UHMWPE fiber on the physical and mechanical properties of expansive soil,and the main results are as follows:(1)Adding UHMWPE fiber into expansive soil can inhibit the expansive characteristics of expansive soil and reduce its load free expansion rate and expansion force.With the increase of UHMWPE fiber content,the loading free expansion rate and expansion force of UHMWPE fiber reinforced expansive soil gradually decrease.When the UHMWPE fiber content exceeds 0.3%,the increase of ethylene fiber content has little effect on the loading free expansion rate and expansion force.(2)The addition of UHMWPE fiber can greatly improve the shear strength and cohesion of expansive soil,and increase the internal friction Angle of soil and improve its strength characteristics to a certain extent.With the increase of UHMWPE fiber length,the cohesion of reinforced soil increases gradually.The cohesion of reinforced soil increases first and then decreases with the increase of fiber content.(3)UHMWPE fiber has a certain influence on the permeability of reinforced expansive soil.The permeability coefficient of reinforced soil increases greatly with the increase of fiber incorporation ratio.When the fiber length is less than 9mm,the permeability coefficient increases greatly with the increase of fiber length,but when the fiber length is more than 9mm,the permeability coefficient does not change much with the increase of fiber length.(4)UHMWPE fiber can quickly and effectively improve the disintegration characteristics of expansive soil.When the UHMWPE fiber content and length increase,the 60min disintegration amount of reinforced expansive soil sample gradually decreases,and the content of UHMWPE fiber has a greater effect on the disintegration amount but a smaller effect on the length. |
