The rutting of the asphalt pavement at intersections has become more serious since the increase of vehicles on urban roads and the high vehicle axle load.Rutting will greatly affect the safety of vehicles.Thus,it is a necessary problem that prevents rutting.The high modulus asphalt concrete(HMAC)is a suitable material to prevent rutting.However,there is a lack of research on the applicability of HMAC at intersections.Based on this,this paper analyzed the mechanical law of HMAC pavement structure through numerical calculation and simulated the application situation of HMAC pavement at intersections.In this paper,the HMAC was set in different layers of the pavement.According to the viscoelastic layered theory,the numerical simulation was carried out.The optimal setting layer of rutting resistance of HMAC pavement structure was determined based on the mechanical indices variation of the simulation results.Moreover,the reasonable structure thickness of HMAC pavement was recommended by the orthogonal test design.Secondly,the influence of moving load speed and axle load on the dynamic response of pavement structure was analyzed,and the difference between HMAC and ordinary asphalt concrete pavement structure was compared.The results showed that the stress and strain of asphalt pavement increased since the low speed and overload,leading to rutting failure.HMAC pavement possesses a higher deformation resistance compared to ordinary asphalt pavement.The temperature field and temperature stress model of pavement in summer were established to analyze the variation of temperature and temperature stress in the pavement structure.The results show that the asphalt surface is most affected by the external temperature and the temperature stress changes of the asphalt pavement.Finally,on the basis of considering the horizontal force of the vehicles,the influence of different horizontal forces on HMAC pavement stress and the strain was analyzed.The results indicated that the maximum shear stress and strain were increased with the increase of horizontal force,which is prone to cause rutting failure.In this paper,the numerical simulation analysis of HAMC pavement at the intersection section was carried out.The simulation results are helpful to reveal the mechanical law of HMAC,which is of great guiding significance to improving the promotion and application of HMAC.
