Virtual simulation system for vehicle dynamics is a complex system with "person vehicle road" coordination.It is usually composed of animation display,somatosensory feedback,driving equipment and vehicle mathematical model.It is mainly used to test vehicle performance and simulate driving feeling.The virtual simulation system for vehicle dynamics not only solves the problems that many vehicle tests are difficult to carry out due to large site area,harsh climate conditions and high operation cost,but also is of great help to the design,R&D and debugging of vehicles.Therefore,it is widely used in teaching,scientific research and production of automobile industry.Authenticity and scientificity are two important criteria to evaluate the quality of virtual simulation system for vehicle dynamics.In other words,the simulation system should not only provide sufficient immersion for the driver,but also guarantee the correctness and dependability of trial data.This requires that the vehicle model used by the system has higher accuracy,faster operation speed,more realistic visual and audio effects of the built virtual scene and more delicate somatosensory feedback to the driver.In view of the above requirements,starting from the system structure level,this paper applies Car Sim software,6 degree of freedom motion platform and 3D active stereo display technology,and develops the virtual simulation system for vehicle dynamics based on6-DOF platform.The main work is as follows:(1)The research status and related advanced technology of vehicle driving simulation system at home and abroad were discussed.The overall design scheme of virtual simulation system for vehicle dynamics was formulated.The system was divided into four subsystems,and a data acquisition system was designed based on Lab VIEW programming environment and hardware equipment such as steering wheel to collect driving behavior data.(2)Based on Car Sim software and NI RT system,a vehicle dynamics model solving system was developed.The creation of vehicle model was completed in Car Sim.The vehicle body stability control strategy was compiled in Lab VIEW.A visual man-machine interface was designed to display the running state of the vehicle.(3)The experimental road model was created in 3ds MAX,and the construction of virtual scene and the design of visual display system were completed in Unity3 D.Using virtual reality technology,with the help of floor type three fold screen and active shutter glasses,the active 3D display effect was realized.(4)The structure and performance of the 6-DOF platform were introduced.The refitting of the real vehicle and the platform were completed.The inverse solution algorithm of the platform was analyzed.The data communication program was compiled based on Lab VIEW to realize the data interaction between the platform and other systems.Finally,the development of somatosensory feedback system and the integrated communication between various systems were completed.(5)The handling and stability tests were carried out on the system,and the evaluation was carried out by analyzing the test data and combining the feedback of the participants.The tests mainly included Steering transient response test,slalom test and severe lane-change manoeuvre.The test analysis shows that the system has good safety,accurate test data and strong immersion.It can carry out vehicle performance test including handling and stability.It meets the development requirements of virtual simulation system for vehicle dynamics based on six degree of freedom platform.
