China is surrounded by two major seismic belts-the Mediterranean seismic belt and the Pacific Rim seismic belt.It is a major earthquake country.In earthquake disasters,rural buildings are the most serious.The disaster situation and the treatment of waste tyres in the construction of villages and towns in China were investigated and summaried in this paper.The results show that the construction quantity of villages and towns in China is wide and the ability to resist earthquakes is poor;the waste tires are produced at an astonishing speed,but the treatment problem is very difficult.There are many shortcomings in the current disposal of waste tyres.In view of the above problems,combining the Scrap Tire Pads made of waste tires with the wall isolation technology used in rural buildings,which can achieve the goal of improving the seismic capacity of rural buildings while green and environmentally friendly disposal of waste tyres.In order to investigate the isolation performance of the Scrap Tire Pads,the experimental study and numerical simulation of the Scrap Tire Pads are carried out,and the results are as follows:1.Combined the Scrap Tire Pads with the under-wall isolation technology and the common wall isolation,the compression-shear test was carried out.The horizontal mechanical properties of the laminated tire isolation pads were compared.The results show that the under-wall isolation technology can provide reset and limit function for the Scrap Tire Pads.The energy consumption capacity of STP is 1.4-1.6 times of the STP energy consumption capacity under the ordinary wall isolation.The horizontal equivalent stiffness is about twice times that of the ordinary wall isolation.The bearing capacity is more stable,and the residual displacement is smaller.2.Combining the Scrap Tire Pads with the under-wall isolation technology,the isolation performance index and horizontal displacement are fitted with Origin to obtain a fitting curve.The relationship between each isolation performance indicator and horizontal displacement was analyzed.The results show that the skeletal curve exhibits “S-type” and the horizontal load growth rate slows down when the loading displacement is ±40 mm;the horizontal equivalent stiffness,equivalent damping ratio,energy dissipation capacity and horizontal displacement have a loading displacement of ±40.Changes have occurred between mm and ±45 mm.3.Based on ETABS simulated masonry structure,the seismic isolation performance of Scrap Tire Pads is studied,and the model verification is verified by the simplified calculation method and the bottom shear method specified in the specification.The simplified calculation results and the time-history analysis show that the composite tire isolation pad can be used to extend the cycle of the structure by8-9 times in the isolation design of the masonry structure,and the maximum interlayer shear force after the isolation is 0.49 times times that of the non-isolated earthquake.4.The price of Scrap Tire Pads is 60%-80% cheaper than that of commonly used isolation bearings.The use of waste tires as laminated tire isolation pads can effectively alleviate the problem of “black pollution”,which is convenient for construction and green.
