During the long-distance pipeline transportation of natural gas,solid impurities such as pipeline corrosion and gravel are often entrained,as well as liquid impurities formed with the formation of condensed water and light hydrocarbons.Due to the wear and corrosion of particulate impurities,the filter element of the horizontal filter separator may be damaged,resulting in performance failure.Impurities enter the downstream compressor unit,causing compressor damage and even safety accidents.Therefore,it is urgently needed in the current natural gas transportation engineering site to summarize and discuss the phenomenon,law and performance changes after the filter element is damaged.The fluid simulation software is used to simulate and calculate the filter separator under various conditions based on the annular porous medium model.The performance test and damage condition test of single filter element and multiple filter elements are carried out by using the experimental device of multiple filter elements natural gas filter separator.The influence of damage on the performance of filter separator under various conditions is investigated.The results show that:The experimental results verify that the calculation model and method used in the simulation calculation can be used to predict the performance of the filter separator and the internal gas flow under the condition of damage.In the transverse position of the filter element,the radial velocity of the airflow near the port of the support end is the highest,when the damage occurs at this position,the pressure drop and filtration efficiency of the filter separator decrease the most respectively,and when the number of broken holes is 5,it reaches 8.8% and 9.4%.The filter efficiency of the filter separator equipped with damaged filter element will be affected by the change of gas velocity.As the apparent gas velocity increases from 0.1m /s to 0.5 m /s,the filter efficiency of the filter element with5 damaged holes decreases by 15.4%,while the filter efficiency of the complete filter element does not change significantly with the increase of apparent gas velocity.The flow distribution of each filter element in the filter separator with multiple filter elements is uneven.When the apparent gas velocity is 0.1 m/s,the flow rate of the filter element with the highest flow is 1.6 times that of the lowest filter element and when the filter element with higher flow rate is damaged,the flow inhomogeneity of the filter separator is further enhanced.In the process of gas-solid filtration,the pressure drop of the filter separator under different filter element damage conditions increases slowly at first and then rapidly.The more the number of filter element damage holes,the longer it takes to form the dust layer.In the surface filtration stage,the pressure drop growth rate of the filter separator with damaged filter element is lower than that of the filter separator without damaged filter element.The research results are helpful to diagnose the damage of filter element on site and provide theoretical basis for the operation and optimization of filter separator.
