A Study On The Application Of Minnan Brick Carving Patterns In The Design Of Tufted Craft Home Wear

The technique of Minnan brick carving is an ancient architectural expression of which Minnan brick carving patterns are an important part.Brick carving is a decorative art in which red bricks are used as the main material for drawing and carving on the surface.However,with the development of the modern construction industry,this traditional pattern is now facing the dilemma of disappearing.Therefore,by studying the artistic characteristics and cultural connotations behind the elements of Minnan brick carving patterns,we can contribute to the preservation and inheritance of Minnan traditional culture.This paper takes the origin,development and connotation of Minnan brick carving patterns as the starting point,and summarises them into harmonic,pictorial and textual categories,and analyses the three design techniques of change and unity,symmetry and balance,and rhythm and rhyme in the structure of Minnan brick carving patterns.The research summarises the redesign methods of southern Minnan brick carvings as deconstruction and reconstruction,repetition,shadow painting,reduction and adaptation.The study uses pattern design methods to analyse the artistic characteristics of the Minnan brick carvings,and further combines them with modern aesthetic features,using subtraction,repetition,deconstruction and reconstruction to extract and redesign them.Realising the application of clothing pattern using tufting process in home wear design,an experimental study of its application in home wear design.After the design practice,it is concluded that Minnan brick carving patterns can be well combined with home wear using the tufting technique,providing a new research idea for the subsequent researchers.
