The Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration is located in the southwest of China, which is also the intersection of the "the Belt and Road" and the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the starting point of the new land sea channel in the west.Due to its unique geographical location advantages, the logistics industry has been vigorously developed, and gradually formed a gathering trend in the development. From 2011 to 2020,the added value of the logistics industry in the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration accounted for an average of 16.86% of the gross domestic product, which played an important role in promoting the economic development of the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration. At the same time, due to the policy goal of "dual carbon" in China,in February 2022,the General Office of the People’s Government of Chongqing and Sichuan Province issued the Notice on the Joint Action Plan for Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutralization in the Chengdu-Chongqing Double City Economic Circle, which also clearly proposed the need to promote low-carbon development of the regional economy. Therefore,it is urgent to deeply explore the impact of logistics industry cohesion on carbon emissions in Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration, and how to promote sustainable, healthy, and green economic growth in Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration. This article combs the current development situation of logistics industry in 16 cities of Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration, uses the location entropy method to measure the logistics industry agglomeration level of Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration from 2011 to 2020,and uses the BP China Carbon Emission Calculator to calculate the carbon emissions of Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration.Secondly, the spatial autocorrelation of logistics carbon emissions in Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration is analyzed using Moran index and local Moran scatter diagram.Based on this, through analyzing LR test and Wald test,it is analyzed that a spatial Dubin model with dual fixed individual time should be constructed, and the research on logistics industry agglomeration and logistics carbon emissions in Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration is conducted to explore the spatial spillover effect of logistics industry agglomeration on logistics carbon emissions in Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration. Then, using a spatiotemporal and geographical weighted regression model, the spatiotemporal heterogeneity of the impact of logistics industry agglomeration on logistics carbon emissions is studied. Finally, suggestions are made for the development of logistics industry in Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration. This article draws the following conclusions through research:(1)The logistics carbon emissions of Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration show a negative spatial correlation, and Chengdu presents a stable high low agglomeration, while Ya’an presents a stable low high agglomeration.(2)The gathering of logistics industries in the ChengduChongqing urban agglomeration increases the logistics carbon emissions in the region and surrounding areas.Among other influencing factors, the number of logistics employees and the level of economic development have a significant positive impact on the logistics carbon emissions in the region and surrounding areas;Information technology level and openness have a significant negative impact on logistics carbon emissions in surrounding areas, while transportation infrastructure construction has a significant negative impact on logistics carbon emissions in this region.(3)The distribution of the impact coefficient of logistics industry agglomeration presents a situation of "high from the north to the south and low from the east to the west".The carbon emission impact coefficient of Chongqing,Zigong,Luzhou,Deyang,Mianyang,Suining,Neijiang,Dazhou,Ya’an,and Ziyang shows a downward trend, while the carbon emission impact coefficient of Chengdu,Leshan,Nanchong,Meishan,Yibin, and Guang’an shows an upward trend. The cities with the strongest negative impact of logistics agglomeration on logistics carbon emissions are Chengdu,Meishan,Leshan, and Chongqing. The city with the strongest positive impact of logistics agglomeration on logistics carbon emissions is Nanchong.
