| In recent years, national enterprises are developing rapidly, and performance evaluation as a component of accounting needs to progress with the times. In the past, the use of a single financial indicator to measure business performance had many drawbacks and companies are looking for a more suitable indicator system. With the international community now placing a high priority on sustainable development, the question of how to measure sustainable development has become a lively topic of discussion. The UN Principles for Responsible Investment(PRI)first introduced the concept of ESG in 2006,which measures sustainable development through environmental, social and corporate governance indicators.Studies have shown that international organisations, companies and even national governments are beginning to take the ESG concept seriously.Energy companies are one of the core national companies, and power companies are among the best of them.Due to the special characteristics of power companies in terms of operation and production, their ESG responsibilities are more extensive than those of other companies. The ESG system is an indicator system that can be used to visualise these five new development concepts. In this context,it is particularly important to build a performance evaluation system for power enterprises based on ESG perspective. This thesis takes GT Power as the research object, constructs a corporate performance evaluation system based on ESG perspective, and through in-depth analysis of cases, draws directions for ESG change optimization and development inspiration.Firstly,it compares the literature on ESG and corporate performance, and summarises the factors influencing corporate performance on the basis of principal-agent theory and sustainable development theory.Secondly,it introduces the current situation and development strategies of the power industry as well as GT,constructs a corporate performance evaluation system from the qualitative aspect and elaborates on the ideas of corporate performance evaluation indicators from the quantitative aspect to form a GT corporate performance system from an ESG perspective.Economic indicators,as traditional performance indicators and core accounting indicators, deserve to be retained. And on this basis, innovation is made to add ESG to the evaluation system,so that corporate performance is divided into four major dimensions: economic, environmental, social and corporate governance. Then, based on this system, the evaluation index data is collected and the data is analysed using the Topsis model with combined entropy-CRITIC method weights, which ultimately results in the weights of each index and the performance ranking for the last five years, and recommendations are given from the four dimensions. The research conclusion of this thesis is: GT company needs to screen investment goals and reduce project costs in the economic dimension; In the environmental dimension,it is necessary to control pollutant emissions and optimize resource allocation; In the social dimension,it is necessary to strengthen service quality, ensure employee safety and development; In the governance dimension,it is necessary to optimize the governance structure, flexibly update rules and regulations, and update power compliance management regulations. The thesis demonstrates that the enterprise performance evaluation system based on the ESG perspective is more reliable than a single financial indicator evaluation, providing ideas for the future development of this case company and providing certain reference value for similar enterprises. |
