Research On Sinopec Environmental Information Disclosure Evaluation

Since the implementation of the "14th Five Year Plan",China has paid more attention to green and sustainable development in the development process,and advocated the idea that Clear waters and green mountains.The formulation and promulgation of relevant laws and regulations have made the whole society move towards green and environmental protection.So in this process,new requirements have been placed on some high energy consuming and heavily polluting industries.The petrochemical industry,whose production process and product combustion are the main sources of greenhouse gases,has been greatly impacted by the "dual carbon" goal.The country and the public are paying more attention to the pollutant emissions and governance situation of this industry.Environmental information disclosure is the main medium for the public to understand the environmental protection information of enterprises.High quality environmental information disclosure helps to enhance the social image of enterprises,and also reflects corporate responsibility and responsibility.The trend of social development requires enterprises to improve the quality of their environmental information disclosure under more comprehensive rules and regulations.On the basis of research results on the development of environmental information disclosure both domestically and internationally,this article selects Sinopec as the research object,based on the unique characteristics of the enterprise and the petrochemical industry,and the requirements of China’s national conditions for the petrochemical industry,to construct an environmental information disclosure evaluation system to evaluate the quality of its disclosed information.And through horizontal and vertical analysis and comparison,it was found that the company has advantages and disadvantages in environmental information disclosure,and corresponding countermeasures and suggestions were proposed on how to improve the quality of environmental information disclosure in Sinopec and even the entire industry.Through research on Sinopec,it was found that the company has an independent dual carbon plan set earlier than the national goals,and its environmental information disclosure quality is also at a leading level in the petrochemical industry.However,there are still loopholes such as vague quantitative information disclosure,incomplete disclosure of negative environmental information,limited information on carbon emissions and capture,and how to achieve the dual carbon goals.We should further improve laws and regulations,increase mandatory requirements for enterprise environmental information disclosure under the dual carbon background,implement specific measures such as internal supervision and external auditing to improve the quality of Sinopec’s environmental information disclosure,and effectively ensure the effective implementation of measures.The evaluation and research on the quality of environmental information disclosure by Sinopec can help improve the quality of environmental information disclosure in the petrochemical industry and even the entire industry,and also contribute to the early realization of China’s dual carbon goals.
