| Since the reform and opening up,with the reform of state-owned enterprises,the unit system has quietly changed.The change of the unit system not only affects the change of China’s social structure,but also affects the vivid life experience and meaning construction of individuals in the unit.Therefore,understanding the identity change and development trajectory of state-owned enterprise workers and their descendants is of great significance for us to explore the reconstruction of social and cultural order in the process of urbanization.How the original unit identity of state-owned enterprise workers is transformed into regional identity is the main concern of this article.This study takes Bai Village Coal Mine in Sichuan Province as an example and conducts in-depth interviews with three generations of miners and their descendants,a total of 19 miners.Analyze the trajectory of the transition from unit identity to regional identity for three generations,revealing that due to changes in the background of the times,changes in the unit system have caused individuals’ unit identity and regional identity to show different characteristics at different times.And explore its underlying mechanism,and then study the temporal changes of the unit system from an individual level and its impact on individual life.Through field investigation,the author found that the unit identity and regional identity of three generations of miners and their descendants in Bai Village Coal Mine are not fixed,but a dynamic process that is constantly adjusted and constructed with the changes of the times.This article is mainly divided into six parts.The introduction part and Chapter 1 first conduct a historical review of research on unit systems and identities,and outlines field points and research methods.Chapter 2 focuses on the establishment period of the unit system in the 1950 s.Unit identity was formed during this period;Chapter 3 focuses on the mature period of the unit system in the 1970 s and 1980 s.Regional identity was formed during this period,while institutional changes led to a weakening of unit identity;Chapter 4 turns its attention to unit system reform since the 1990 s.During this period,unit identity tended to disintegrate and gradually turned to regional identity;Chapter 5 will focus on the generation mechanism of regional identity;Chapter 6mainly explores the change of coal mine cultural order and how cultural order affects identity transformation;Chapter 7 studies how intergenerational differences in social relations affect unit identity and regional identity.Based on field investigations,this article points out that Bai Village’s three generations of miners and their descendants have transformed from unit identity to regional identity and then to nostalgia.It is a result of Bai Village’s gradual generation of regional culture.It is an inevitable transition from a planned economic system to a market economic system.It is also a manifestation of Modernization at an individual. |
