Wood detection is based on traditional manual methods,which have low efficiency and high cost,and cannot meet the needs of today’s society.At present,the extensive production mode of relevant enterprises causes a waste of resources and the product quality cannot be stably improved.The introduction of machine vision technology can realize the rapid and stable nondestructive testing of wood.Machine learning algorithm replaces manual recognition,which is of great benefit to improve the automation and intelligence level of wood processing enterprises.Color feature is one of the important surface natural properties of solid wood boards.Appearance color is also the basis for enterprises to evaluate the quality and consumption grade of wooden products and an important index to judge the market value.Solid wood board is an excellent material for interior decoration.Due to the difference of surface color of solid wood boards,sorting the color will help to improve the appearance quality of wood products spliced by multiple boards.At present,the dilemma of solid wood board color sorting is that there is no corresponding national standard and industry standard.In order to overcome the difficulties in the color sorting of modern solid wood boards processing and production process,this subject integrated multi-disciplinary knowledge,made use of the advantages of machine vision technology and artificial intelligence,and used image processing technology and machine learning algorithm to greatly improve the speed and stability of wood board detection,and the color sorting effect was excellent.In this paper,unsupervised clustering algorithm was proposed to realize the sorting of solid wood board surface color,and the following research contents were completed:(1)The image acquisition system of solid wood boards was designed and completed,and the working process of the system was introduced in detail.Beech wood boards were selected as the research object,the acquisition of board surface images were realized by machine vision.The surface information of solid wood boards included color feature information and texture feature information.Machine learning algorithm was used to identify and sort solid wood boards,which ensured the accuracy and stability of color sorting system.(2)Several color spaces such as RGB(red,green,blue),HSV(hue,saturation,value)and Lab(Laboratory)were introduced;Several color features such as first-order color moment,secondorder color moment and color histogram were analyzed;Based on the unsupervised K-means clustering algorithm,the effects of different color feature combinations extracted from the three kinds of color spaces on the surface color sorting of solid wood boards were compared.Finally,based on the actual demand,the color feature combination was selected as this topic research model.K-means clustering algorithm and general processing flow were introduced.Aiming at the problem that K-means clustering algorithm needed to specify K value in advance,the number of clusters was determined according to experience and combined with the actual experimental results.Through the comparison of experimental results,it was found that the first-order color moment(mean)and color histogram could be used to better describe the overall color distribution of solid wood board images,and the second-order color moment(variance)was sensitive to texture information and had very superior performance for texture recognition.The application scenario of the technical scheme was expanded,and its effect on the surface color sorting of different kinds of solid wood boards was analyzed.(3)A color sorting system for solid wood board surface color based on machine vision technology was designed.In order to facilitate the query and management of information,the information database of solid wood board color sorting system was created,including board image acquisition information and color sorting information.The functional modules of the solid wood board color sorting system were introduced in detail,and the design and function realization of the solid wood board color sorting system were carried out.
