Research On The Impact Of Baosteel’s Green Transformation On Enterprise Performance

After China’s economic development moves towards a new pattern,the conflict between enterprise development and the environment has become a common concern of the whole society.The steel industry,as an industrial sector with the largest carbon emissions and the largest coal consumption besides the power generation industry,is under great pressure to reduce carbon emissions,and is receiving more and more attention from the public.Therefore,the "green" transformation of the steel industry is imperative for enterprises to survive and achieve sustainable development.The realization of green transformation is not an overnight matter.As a representative state-owned steel enterprise in China,Baosteel should shoulder its social responsibility and take the path of green transformation through a series of measures such as green products,green manufacturing and green industry.This paper conducts a special study on the impact of Baosteel’s green transformation on enterprise performance,and summarizes the possible fluctuations of green transformation and green development related indicators on enterprise performance.And based on the entropy value method and comprehensive index evaluation method of product life cycle,green EVA evaluation method and stakeholder perspective,with reference to the triple bottom line theory,such as enterprises should pursue the comprehensive maximization of financial,economic and social benefits,to analyze environmental performance,financial performance and social performance.On this basis,this paper draws two main conclusions: first,the overall performance of enterprise transformation is improving,and second,green transformation helps enterprises upgrade.Finally,based on the above research results and the successful case of Baosteel’s green transformation,the corresponding optimization suggestions are put forward,such as adhering to the green transformation strategy,strengthening green technology innovation to promote industrial upgrading,and increasing the return on investment of environmental protection projects.In this way,I hope it can bring some enlightenment to other steel enterprises to achieve green transformation and high-quality development.
