Research On The Influence Of Government Subsidies On The Ambidextrous Innovation Of New Material Enterprises

Under the background of global economic downturn and increasingly fierce competition,innovation is a general trend in the new era,as pointed out in the 14 th Five-Year Plan,to adhere to the core position of innovation in the overall situation of China’s modernization,the scientific and technological self-reliance and self-improvement as a strategic support for national development.New materials are the cornerstone and forerunner of the future development of high-tech industries.Accelerating the development of new materials industry,promoting industrial technology innovation,and enhancing the overall industry R&D level can better promote the rapid development of China.So,how to effectively enhance the ability of new materials enterprises to innovate? What are the effects of government subsidies and market competition as the most common means of influence on enterprise innovation?This paper selects the data of new materials listed enterprises from 2010 to 2021,and on the basis of combing relevant domestic and foreign literature,uses multiple regression models to conduct econometric analysis and model testing on sample data to study the influence of government subsidies on enterprises’ ambidextrous innovation and the moderating role of market competition in it,and further analyzes whether this influence changes under industry heterogeneity and life cycle heterogeneity.The following conclusions are obtained: first,government subsidies can promote ambidextrous innovation,and the promotion effect on exploratory innovation is better than that on exploitative innovation;second,industry concentration has a significant moderating effect on the effect of government subsidies on exploratory innovation,and this moderating effect exists only in advanced basic material enterprises,growth stage enterprises and mature enterprises;third,the competitive position of enterprises is more important in the effect of government subsidies on exploratory innovation and exploitative innovation.This moderating effect only exists in the key strategic material enterprises and mature enterprises.Based on the above findings,this paper puts forward the following suggestions:first,to formulate differentiated government subsidy policies according to enterprise heterogeneity;second,to improve the supervision mechanism to ensure that government subsidies are put into practice;third,to build a resource sharing platform to help new material enterprises develop rapidly.
