In the process of high-speed cutting titanium alloy,the serious problem of tool wear not only reduces the tool life but also affects the machining accuracy.According to the principle of bionics,machining textures of different sizes and shapes on the tool can effectively reduce the contact area between tool and chips,thereby reducing tool wear,improving the cutting performance of the tool,and extending the service life of the tool.In this paper,according to the size of the pit on the surface of the dung beetle,the pit texture is processed on the front face of the tool,and the titanium alloy turning test is carried out.The main research work is as follows:(1)To study the mechanism of the pit shape on the dung beetle’s surface to reduce adhesion and soil stripping,build the pit layout model,and design the pit diameters of50μm、70μm、100μm according to the actual pit size on the dung beetle’s surface.and the pit texture is processed by laser marking machine.(2)Single factor turning tests were carried out with textured tools and non textured tools.The cutting force data in the cutting process were collected and analyzed.The results showed that the axial force was reduced with textured tools 100μm texture tool reduces radial force,The tangential force is reduced by 50μm texture tool.The cutting force model of pit textured tool is established,and the influence of the pit diameter on the cutting force is analyzed,and the reason why texture tools affect cutting force(3)The cutting force data of three textured tools and non textured tools are substituted into the model to obtain the chip friction coefficient and chip contact length.The results show that: only 100μm texture tools can reduce the friction coefficient of tool chips and the contact length of tool chips.The friction coefficient and chip contact length of 50μm and 70μm textured tools are higher than those of non textured tools,because the proportion of adhesive zone increases within the chip contact length.(4)The machined surface roughness values of three texture tools and non texture tools after cutting were measured.The results showed that the three texture tools can reduce the machined surface roughness,and the effect is more obvious when the pit diameter is smaller.
