With the development of trade globalization,the volume of marine transportation is increasing,and the shortage of marine fuel oil has become one of the important factors restricting the development of marine transportation in China.Marine fuel is easy to cause environmental pollution due to its large waste discharge.As a low-cost and energy-saving fuel,methanol stands out among many alternative fuels and attracts more and more researchers’ attention.In this paper,methanol is used as the blended fuel of heavy marine fuel oil.The stability of the blended fuel is evaluated by three methods: microscopic observation,static settlement and measurement of evaporation loss.The rheology of the blended fuel is investigated by measuring the freezing point and viscosity.The corrosivity of blended fuel is measured by metal corrosiveness test,and the following research work is mainly done:(1)By comparing the physical properties of five distillate oils as heavy marine fuel oils,and then exploring the stability of different blended fuels,the coker gas oil(CGO)(with the closest density to methanol and the best stability of blended fuel)and the hydrogenation slurry are selected as the main research objects.(2)By comparing the stability of the mixed fuel and the size of methanol particle,the homogenization method was determined as high speed shear method.The optimum operating conditions are 12000 r / min and the shearing time are 2.5 min,and temperature is slightly higher than freezing point of the oil sample.(3)The effects of methanol content,additive types,additive structure and content,storage temperature and other conditions on the stability,freezing point,viscosity,acid value and other properties of the blended fuel of methanol and CGO were investigated.The results show that the best mixture ratio was 77.5% of CGO,11% of methanol,11.5% of n-octanol,stored at 45℃ for more than 30 days.(4)The blending 180# heavy marine fuel oil with methanol was studied,and the homogenization method was selected by the high-speed shear.The effects of methanol content,water content,additive type and content,storage temperature on the stability,rheological properties and corrosion of the mixed fuel were investigated.The results show that the optimum mixture ratio is 180 # fuel oil 76.6%,methanol 8%,water 15.3%,and the stable time at 30℃ and 45℃ is higher than 30 days.Heavy oil mixed with alcohol can alleviate the situation of insufficient fuel consumption of domestic heavy ships to a certain extent,which plays an important role in reducing environmental pollution.
