China is currently in an important stage of cultural exportation to the outside world, and it is the trend of the time to explore and promote traditional culture. As part of traditional Chinese culture,Han Chinese traditional costume culture faces similar development prospects and problems, with a broad future and a lack of practical results;it is also plagued by the additional problems of lack of individual research and low social awareness due to its characteristics. The infrequent appearance of Hanfu culture as a theme in many exhibition displays makes this a realistic target for research and practice. The combination of exhibition space design and Chinese costume culture can highlight its strengths and make it easier to convey its superficial charm and underlying meaning."How to meet the needs of different groups of visitors, such as people without basic knowledge,school-age children and people with certain knowledge, and make them enjoy the exhibition, requires the construction of a display space that meets the needs of different visitors with culture as the base. This process is a joint participation of exhibits, space and audience, and requires the transformation of one-way output into two-way interaction that is easy to participate in and remember. The research methods in this paper are mainly literature search, fieldwork, graphic and textual inter-evidence and multiple evidence methods. The cultural aspect refers to literature on different topics to summarise and sort out relevant information;the relevant practices visit the display sites, especially those in the traditional culture category, analyse the existing display methods and their shortcomings, and summarise the design points. In addition,a sample of audience needs was surveyed to enhance the feasibility of design practices that link Chinese costume with the display space. The above work progressed through ups and downs and eventually achieved some results.According to the chapter layout, the research on display space design was at the top of the list, and when it actually took place,it went hand in hand with cultural research and studies. In the process, through viewing the exhibition online and offline, more details of the design of the display space were noted, and a deeper understanding of Hanfu culture was gained, with a wealth of experiences and ideas gained from looking at the culture in question through different perspectives. The introductory section of the article states the context and significance of the research, and the second chapter is a methodological study that addresses the design of the display space. The third chapter provides a research and analysis of the case study display space, filling in the methodological framework. The fourth chapter analyses the culture and display needs of Hanfu from both internal and external perspectives. The fifth chapter concludes the theoretical investigation with a practical design session, where the findings are applied and reported as a comprehensive presentation of the whole project. The final chapter is a conclusion and outlook, which reviews, summarises and reflects on the whole project, accumulating experiences and lessons learnt, while planning and anticipating future directions for the research, and bringing the project to a complete conclusion.
